Just listened to the Raymond press meeting about making the team and then Blashill talking about roster moves.

I just feel like I will love watching Seider and Raymond this season, these guys are going to generate some buzz around the league. Not to mention, we get to see Ned, Leddy and Suter.

Generally feel good about what Steve has done with first-round picks and with who he was able to sign and trade for (don't want to forget Vrana even though he's injured).

One slight surprise for me coming out of the preseason is Veleno is not with us yet. I thought he played well enough in the preseason. I was thinking they could put him at center on the third line with Rasmussen back on wing. But Veleno earning a call-up is one more thing to look forward to now.

Can't wait!

I actually really like Erne in that spot.

Gagner less so but if I switch either of those guys the second unit is far weaker.

I would hope Rasmussen would get a look there before Gagner.

We have hardly any big bodies up front anymore.

I hear you. I can see the logic in both decisions.

I'd like to see how Erne looks with this group before I start theory crafting new lineups. It's a long season, I'm confident we'll see changes many times.

Overall though I really think they nailed the balance and putting guys into their positions of strength.

No kidding. I love those units.

Is this Tanguay's influence?

Wait how is it different from last year template wise and not so much personnel wise?

Edit: Hronek not the QB? Larkin on the opposite flank?

I don't think I have ever seen someone format power play lines like that. Terribly confusing.

I think Gags gets a look based on being one of our only right hand shooters.

I wish I could let someone borrow Raymond’s sense for finding soft spots and his quick release from the mid slot for the powerplay.

He’s a brilliant powerplay quarterback, but man his ability to get open and pick corners QUICK from the slot is brilliant as well. I just want two of him on the ice at all times.

Seider will make Corey Perry look like a ragdoll.

That's the only target for that game.

Stephens and Erne will score for us.

I think the Stephens thing is going extremely interesting to watch. He skates quite well and I think he’s more talented than people give him credit for just reading through his old scouting reports and what not. I hope he can do what Erne did last year.
