total BS no conflict just bunch of whiners to delay. Mcintosh and Cormier sit on the BIA board that is conflict of interest, but no one talks about it .

Not BS; but today, I’m pleased by the wolves acquisition of near future 1st line RW!!!

educate yourself on this, i know a lot about what is going on. Small group of whiners who will try to delay this project until the end. The goal is to delay it until next election so maybe new council will change their decision on the Kingsway site. There is no conflict because the vote for Landry has nothing to do with the motor park, the vote was for the arena, casino, and hotel. The Motor park is something they plan in future.

The vote was on the (site) to build.
Lets just be happy with acquisition of a player we both wanted today :)

I don't understand the niznikov addition, we should be selling off assists, here's hoping there is another trade to follow
Could he be replacing Sokolov? as he would surely be a major player going forward. I like this deal considering what we gave up for him. This weekend should be an indication what direction the team will be heading pending the outcome. I just can't understand why Barrie would move him? He has a history of dictating where he wants to play, only hope he is good for the room.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for and supposedly Sudbury was one of his destinations of choice should he be traded. And yes the fact that Barrie traded him is confusing.

Gotta wonder why a gifted offensive player was not a match for Hawerchuk. He’s got a 2nd half to re-build his draft stock; so...
Yeah, move Sokolov (and Pezzetta) to continue towards making this club good, (soon).

He has 3 goals & 8 assists in 25 games. Not exactly what you would expect from a 1st round pick.

Couple of points re: trade

We're in reach of a few teams. Not sure if they will subtract a few players in a month but their in business to win hockey games and put people in the seats

Most are asking to sell assets, who's left to protect the kids. A few already had been exposed due to injuries.

Papineau is proactive which I like. I trust him so far if he chooses to leave the team in tact so be it. He has a plan let's see it out.

New arrival in lineup tonight. #74. Could see Levin and the two Russian players on the same line in the future.

To me this seems to be another signal regarding a SBY move to be a contender next year and beyond. Ideally for the city, the timing of which would be aligned with a new arena. Pezzetta and Sokolov should now be viewed as even more legitimate pieces for the Soo in exchange for youth, such as Fowler and others as mentioned in the Soo thread. While Rhodes has been mentioned, the Soo may be quite content with their D because their approach is to simply outscore their opponent.

Over exposing rookies to injury is something I’ve always been concerned with. But, wolves rookie forwards are big. Candella & O’Grady can be retained as they will be good OA D.

I think that if Fowler is on the table then the Hounds are going to get Raddysh. I think that Sokolov and/or Pezzetta can be acquired without giving up a first round pick. The Hounds will surely be interested in acquiring one or the other, probably not both.

Also, the Hounds are the top defensive team in the league in terms of goals allowed. Most of their chances are generated from an active defense that creates a ton of turnovers.

Has nothing to do with size. It's leadership.

Well I took sometime to absorb this trade earlier today. While it is a bit confusing to me considering Sudbury has a lot of young talent on their current roster already and some of those players in the system have signed or will be next year. But I did mention earlier in the year that our GM needed to make a bold move or two to get this team moving in a different direction that they are normally have. With this deal it does that. And I think I applaud Papineau for that. I just hope this deal wasn't by accident and it will follow into some sort of master plan. So moving forward this team now has plenty of bodies around. The biggest question of the day is who moves out? All fingers point to Sokolov as it has been rumoured for sometime now. Lets hope we get some of those picks back. I'm thinking that may all we get for Sokolov. Other players that they move will be one Pezzetta, OGrady, and Candella and one of our four overagers. If we receive any more youth back in those deals then you could see one of ours tossed in a deal like a Gilhula or McConville. I think we don't see Sokolov by our next home game.

As for Krill Nizhnikov I'm not sure what to make of him. He didn't report to Mississauga and was subsequently dealt to Barrie in his rookie season for 10 picks. Had a pretty decent season as a 16 year old and showed promise to be that offensive player he was tabbed in his draft year. However this season he has only scored 3 times. That is a bit concerning considering the potent roster Barrie has. With the rookie sensation in Barrie who is expected to be a NHL 1st rounder went down with an injury you would think Krill would have stepped in and provided the offence. Suzski was also absent during that time at the U17 tourney. So some questions surround him and rightfully so. Lets hope he finds some comfort here in Sudbury and is able to provide some consistent offence for the 2.5 years left in this league. Things are about to get interesting.

Talk about the refs having an outcome in the game. The Wolves deserved a better fate than that. A terrible non call against OGrady that resulted in a serious injury. Fraser with a late hit with the player in a vulnerable position. Completely turned the game around. Wolves gave up two goals immediately following that. Then in OT the penalty to Pezzetta was terrible. He cuts to the net and takes the shot while 3 on 3. His stick on the follow through get tangled in Wells chest. A interference call is then given to Pezzetta. Results in an OT goal for the Petes on the PP. Thank you Lewis and Neeley for ruining a good hockey game.

Thoughts on the game tonight.

Part of me is royally annoyed with the fact that we blew a 2 point lead and ultimately lost in overtime.

The other part of me is happy about the fact that we got a point against a very good club in the Pete’s and we we’re leading for a big chunk of the game, also by the sound of what I heard on the radio, we played a pretty decent overall game.

What more can be said about Kirll Nizhnikov, here’s hoping that tonight is a glimpse of what is to come, 3 points is a good start in my books.

And Finally, it’s probably too early to know, but does anyone have any more info about what happened to O’Grady?

Looked like ankle or twisted knee....refs were horrible....Culina played very well could have lost that one by a lot more if weren't for key saves.....some bad defensive plays cost some goals.....game could have been won...
