Spoilers:

This movie sounds absolutely trash. I saw the last one and it was trash too. Everything Luke, Leah, and Han did is meaningless. Leah/Han meaningless. Luke is garbage and a child nephew killer now. I guess all he ever cared about was turning fathers from dark to light. Nephews not so much, they can get the slice. Fin is basically a walking joke. Who's idea was it to make his character be just a stagnant idiot? Snoke turned out to be a giant joke too. Where was he during the previous movies? Who cares, the guy's dead and a joke. Such a let down. Leah is superman and meaningless. Yoda, a ghost, lightning bolts a tree. Why doesn't he just ghost-lightning bolt Kylo and be done with all of this? Why didn't he just ghost-lightning bolt Vader/Sidious in the first ones? The guy is a nut and all he cares about is blazing an apparently meaningless tree.

This movie just sounds like absolute trash. Chewie is now a vegan. Kylo an Rey have a force-skype chat and don't even ask how it's happening in the first place. Imagine you have never heard of a telephone, and one appears in your hand and you're talking to someone. Does neither of you really ask how it's happening? Casino scene meant to bash capitalism? It's as is a Berkely SJW wrote this. I rather read a fan fic. What a joke. They free the animals like it's some sort of Harry Potter flick. Luke the depressed, failure, recluse, wannabe child killer, decides to kill himself in the end. Who didn't see that coming? R2 shows up, shows some hologram crap, and then that's it. Pretty much the same role it had in the last one. The resistance is just a bunch of suicide bombing jokes now. I have no idea why Disney's trying to glorify that. Luke milks some random beast, and drinks it. Rey is Star Wars Jesus. Honestly this movie is just complete garbage. I didn't think they could make a worse Star Wars movie than the Force Awakens, but somehow they managed to.

Original Trilogy>Prequels>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Star Wars Christmas Special>>>>>>>Rogue One>Force Awakening>Last Jedi

End of Spoilers.

It's okay if anyone enjoys it. If you like it, I'm glad you found something enjoyable. For me, the story ended with the 6th one.

I mean... if those are your criticisms then good riddance.

You want to see what SW's COULD BE? Let these people write, direct and produce a KOTOR franchise.

The Jedi/Sith would just laugh at the nonsense we've seen from Kylo and Rey. Not to mention, the only 2 folks who've had powers you'd equate to insanely powerful force users (Snoke and Luke) were killed off ridiculously.

What was the budget for this abominatiom? Guessing over 200$ million? Incredible that a finnish movie called "tuntematon sotilas" (which came out earlier this year) with the budget of under 10$ million could be so much better than what I just witnessed. I'm speechless.

Leia flying through space was one of the most ridiculous things ever, I couldn't stop laughing at that scene. Overall not a bad movie but not a great one either, too many problems with the plot. The scenes with Kylo and Ray are my favorite parts of the movie, Luke and Snoke were great too.

This is the only thing I really had a problem with. It just seemed way too out of the universe and reminded me of Guardians of the Galaxy. I didn't like when it happened in that movie either. I don't like when it happens in any movie, to be honest, even in a "realistic" way in something like Sunshine. But it's a minor quibble.

Other than that, I enjoyed the hell out of it. A lot of the criticisms I'm reading are people who set unreasonable expectations and/or predictions that weren't met, or something absurd like complaining about a female lead (you are aware that this is the 3rd movie in a row where that's the case, yes?). Is it flawless, or the greatest movie in the franchise? Doubtful. But if you don't like this movie, you probably just don't like Star Wars anymore.

It's objectively a bad film. The pacing, plot, everything. I enjoyed Rogue One, but this was pure garbage.

They spent alot of time and money on production but not on making the story original. Alot of it was ripped off the OT.

Every movie seems to be about the antagonist building a new super weapon to destroy the rebellion and eventually gets destroyed.

I'm not exaggerating when I say: I think this was the best Star Wars ever made. I really thought it was better than the originals. I know I know blasphemy, but I am not shaming the originals' legacy here. Rian Johnson brought feelings and elements of Empire and then spun it in a more modern, darker, and humorous direction. I was captivated by this film.

I think the fact that it's so polarizing among fans is actually a good thing. It's a significant change in direction not following the norms of the series.

Yeah, it was about whole lotta nothing. Snoke gets killed = doesn't affect anything, Rey gets trained to be a jedi = he was already capable of beating a sith in the last movie.
