So, seriously, who is getting traded?

I'm getting concerned that Stan has backed himself in to a corner by not doing anything yet.

Meh. Worst case he just dumps some guys on the curb for teams looking to dumpster dive and we get another Stanton/Kostka situation.

I think if he doesn't get a trade for Leddy he likes, other guys get dumped. Like Morin or Rundblad.

This board would explode if Stan threw a 2nd rounder or Morin straight into the garbage with intent. At least it should based on the value of picks of prospects on this board.

Morin's caphit is only 800k, so if he gets moved it's likely as an enticer for the other team to take someone less desirable. I could see it happening though. He can't be sent down, and for whatever reason the Hawks never really seemed sold on Jeremy.

He may have the more important role. I can agree with that much. However, value and replaceability is a different story.

It's much easier to replace a 3rd pairing defender only plays sheltered ES minutes. I'd argue Clendening/Cumiskey/Dahlbeck could easily replace what Leddy does on this team.

Kruger is the Hawks leading penalty-killer, on a team that struggles to kill penalties. He's also a great FO guy, very important for a puck-possession team like the Hawks. Who do we bring up to replace a defensive specialist like Kruger?

I'm also hoping Danault can develop into eventual Kruger replacement.

Don't think he's ready now.

Rundblad isn't going anywhere, but Morin better start showing more and soon. Can't see him waiving Morin, but I can definitely see him including Morin in a trade as he hasn't been very noticeable this pre-season yet in the 3 games I have watched.

LOL. On the PK you're referring to, I assume. It is the only time our 4th line players will face the best ops. Kruger is so overrated here, it isn't funny.

Right, that's why he was 4th out of the forwards in QoC on the Hawks last year 5 on 5...right? That's ahead of every regular forward not named Toews, Hossa, and Sharp.
Not to mention starting almost every shift in the defensive zone, when the opps typically throw out there best players on offensive zone starts.

He is actually considered to be one of the better 4th liners in the league by various experts and fans of other teams. And he was pitted against the best the opponent had to offer quite frequently.

Q flat out said Richards is getting Leddy's spot on the power play

With this and all of the Versteeg praise coming out of training camp, I'm thinking the final deal will probably try to package Morin and Leddy together.

It doesn't seem like the coaches think either of them have much place on the roster this year, and there would definitely be bidders if Stan puts them on the block.

Opening day playing rosters must be set by Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m. ET. Those rosters must be cap compliant.

Brad Richards will start the season in Nick Leddy's old spot on the point on the second power-play unit. Hmm. #Blackhawks

Better be one hell of a player coming back if that's the package.
