Also...Franz finished 11th for the Selke, JT finished 25 for the Selke, and JT finished 16th for the Lady Byng (Franz finished 53rd for the Lady Byng, 1 3rd place vote).

I really don't know how Shero won the award. He amassed a team of all stars that once again, when faced with a REAL opponent, collapsed and honestly, had we not had a garbage PP and horrific net minding, would have been bounced by the isles in rd 1

It's a dumb award and a dumb way to select it. It's hard to select top GMs when you're only accounting for one season, even worse if you don't account for the postseason. A huge chunk of a GM's success or failure for a given year is about how he manages the trade deadline. And that wasn't noted.

I'd be curious about a debate on Shero in general though. Starting out with Malkin and Crosby is a huge benefit. First draft involved selecting Staal over Toews (just imagine if this went another way). Best moves were probably trading for Hossa/Dupuis in one shot, trading for Neal. Got decent value for Staal last year. Got Kunitz via trade.

This past trade deadline? Not as good.
