Hmm let's see.

I'd have Rusev be offended that they claim to be about love, have him make a joke about how he let his wife spread her wings and fly on her own and even though she failed, he still loves her even though he did throw a cold fish at her once. Make a joke about how Mike took Maria's last name instead and then have him talk about how he's going to crush Mike and chase them off.

We can work a cold fish and throwing it in there as more weeks go by while Rusev transitions into a beast-comedy hybrid character.
