How much money did he cost himself by taking this cheap one year deal? His numbers are lagging far behind last seasons and his +/- is one of the worst in the league.

According to some people in this thread, he cost himself nothing because this was a shady backdoor agreement.

He gambled and he lost. Too bad for him.

He must, rightfully, feel like a dumbass right now. Hahahahahaha! Let's see if the Sharks will be as loyal to him as he tried to be with them.
This. One of the worst decisions by a free agent in my lifetime of following hockey. Just ridiculous.
On the flip side, the Sharks paid him $1 million and he rewarded them with a $1 million performance.
Nobody won here.

He rewarded them with a 3 mil or so performance in reality because that's what he'll probably get in his next deal. A shade under half a point per game is still worth that even with his horrid +/-.
24 ES points with 2nd line minutes and suspect defense is not worth $3 million. Lets meet in the middle and call it $2 million.
Oh sure it is especially because that money figure isn't going to be based off just last season. His big season will also be accounted for when looking at comparables. He's a 3 mil player at this stage.
I wasn't really referring to what he will get on his next deal. I am saying his performance this season was that of a $1-2 million player.
We also signed him knowing would be a PP specialist. We signed him because of his ability to produce on the PP, which he still isn't producing where he needs to be for that role. But with our PP teams its kind of expected.24 ES points with 2nd line minutes and suspect defense is not worth $3 million. Lets meet in the middle and call it $2 million.
Quite funny.
If Labanc would have signed for ~4million, Sharks would have traded Dillon away at last summer to make room.
And they did trade Dillon away, just 6 months after.

For the record everybody here is overreacting again. He is a good player, the Sharks are just too top heavy and are too injured, and his production is taking a hit. Young player, victim of circumstance.
Has he fired his agent yet?

win win?
