Trouba drives play and is excellent defensively. Gostisbehere doesn’t do either and likely ends up as a second pair PP specialist. Playing in the east and having a big point total can do wonders for perceived value but Trouba is a much better player.

Trouba Plays good defense, not excellent. Ghost absolutely drives the play much much better than Trouba. Stretching the truth and down right lying to support your opinion?

Values there. Not that I think either team does it.

Reinhart would be an upgrade offensively at 2C.

Buffalo gets their top pair LD and still have Eichel and O'Reilly down the middle.

I'm not sure Sabres fans want to bet that heavily on an out of no where offensive defensemen, less then two years after trading away Tyler Myers.

Also the point of getting another LD is having someone who can ride shotgun with Risto and match up again any line in the league. Ghost Bear didn't fit that criteria. Might as well make a UFA play for Shatenkirk.

Duchene makes $6m. The Flyers players going back need to make at least that much, e.g. Ghost + Schenn. But the Flyers wouldn't do that.

Ghost didn't come out of nowhere. It's just some people cling to draft position to try and determine future development.

Impressive list of minor league awards/College awards, must be nice to play against second rate talent until you're 22

Meanwhile Myers won the NHL Calder trophy when he was 20.

He was against Jimmy Howard and Matt Duschene. Ghost was up against a Top-10 scoring player (Panarin) and Yahweh (McDavid). Bit of a competition difference.

Any team would take Ghost over Myers, if that's what you're getting at...?

Lol...

College MVP?
NHL rookie team?
Calder runner up?
WC North America?

Obviously development is not linear. It was simply to show that Ghost did not come out of nowhere last year like some uninformed people suggest. He has been good off awhile. And if he had not lost a full year due to injury, maybe his impact would have been sooner.

But go on, sound ignorant on the topic.

Sure, 64 games is realtively small. But that doesn't change the fact that he was driving the play for those 64 games. Therefore, it can't be said that he doesn't drive the play. Try again.

I never said he didn't drive the play. I think he's great offensively.

Myers is also a huge player who e development took a winding road. Ghost is a small Dman. After his surprise inclusion on WJC team, it was clear he had a chance to be a player IF he could survive and play some D. Made sense to stay in colege and fill out. Then it turned out that not only can he play at NHL level, he can be a gamebreaker. But he is still lrearning to defend, like all young Dmen.

He's not available for trade at almost any price, so the thread is moot.
