Well they can stick that somewhere inappropriate.

Their prediction is only a 7 point drop from the previous season. What is an eye-popper is the jump in points for the Yotes.

Because the Kings, Yotes, and Sharks are all within one or less points of each other, USA Today is basically saying any of those three can come in fourth.

I think 4th to 6th would realistically be the Sharks, Kings, and Yotes in that order. I'm not sure I'd put the Yotes in 6th. The Canucks are a wild-card type for predicting standings.

Where the Sharks end up is likely to come down to Martin Jones - which one shows up for the 17-18 season, and how well PDB coaches and develops lines in the season of a declining JT who has always been the stalwart 1st line center historically for the Sharks.
