I got into a heated discussion with a discorder / HF Member about gender neutrality. I was concerned about Trudeau trying to eliminate any gender disadvantages, starting by removing "thy sons" from the anthem and replacing it with "all our" or "all us" like men and women are equal.

Here's the dicey thing.

Men and women deserve to be equal. I'm not disputing that. But there are some things that deserve to be different.

For instance, it's stupid how a woman gets paid less than a man for doing the same job. The excuse is that the woman will get pregnant and miss time which is crucial for the company. How do you know that? If she's a hard working career oriented woman should she still be paid less?

However there are other parts of genders which should remain discriminate. For instance, we should have separate bathrooms for men and women. Why should I have to urinate with a female in the bathroom? Do you know how awkward that is? I've had it happen a few times. It's not pleasant. Females have walked into the bathroom to clean the room in Capital One Arena when I'm trying to urinate. I was like man get outta here this is awkward. Do you know how awkward it would be if they were gender neutral bathrooms and any man or woman could enter?

So I only believe in gender neutrality for pay. A man and woman should be paid equal for doing the same job. That's common sense. However men and women should still use separate bathrooms.
