We don't need a guy 1-timing the puck from the possession side of our half wall. We have Hoffman on his offwing to unload, and Stone on his offwing to open himself.

We want a guy like Stone who can dissect and read plays to make our PP more than a perimeter passing play until we shoot into someones shin pads, which it has been with Turris on the half-wall.

Stone brings the puck into the box and opens players up, something our stand=still and pass the puck PP hasn't done the past 2 ears.

I don't necessarily disagree. Ideally you want someone who can do both, Spezza was a good example of that. I do think they are missing that shooting threat from the left side though.

Yes, it hurt our leadership and chemistry this year to lose Methot - no argument there. Long term, though, he was going to be too expensive. You can't pay 12 point guys $5 mil a year when other core guys need new deals.
