I like that Akey has some grit. He'll have to calm down on plays like that to reduce penalties, but that can be worked on.

Bourgault with more hustle in that period and doing what he should be doing. But then loses puck twice on PP trying to force plays instead of just take the puck to open ice and set up. Then Akey with the penalty killing the PP. Not a good sequence there.

Let's see how some of these guys like XB, Savoie, Petrov perform in the first few months of the AHL before we either anoint them future solid NHLers or busts.

People need to temper expectations based on a 3 day tournament in September. Some guys are going to show better than they really are and others not so much. Let's see how some of these guys like XB, Savoie, Petrov perform in the first few months of the AHL before we either anoint them future solid NHLers or busts.

Yeah, if you're on a junior team that didn't make the playoffs, your season ended in March. That's half a year of rust for some guys.
