Pick an artist, probably one you like and are familiar with, and rank their albums in order of preference. Feel free to include live, compilations, soundtracks or whatever you deem best.

I'll do R.E.M. No live or compilations but including the Man On The Moon soundtrack.

R.E.M.
1) Life's Rich Pageant
2) Automatic For The People
3) Out Of Time
4) Fables Of The Reconstruction
5) Murmur
6) New Adventures In Hi-Fi
7) Reckoning
8) Document
9) Green
10) Reveal
11) Monster
12) Around The Sun
13) Collapse Into Now
14) Accelerate
15) Up
16) Man On The Moon

The top three could go in any order but they are clearly the top three for myself. From #4-11 it is very close and bunched. The last five are good but there's a drop after #11.

Bruce Springsteen

1. Born to Run
2. Darkness on the Edge of Town
3. Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
4. The River
5. Nebraska

Those have been the big 5 for me

6. Wrecking Ball
7. Born in the U.S.A.
8. Magic

BITU is semi overrated for its popularity while the other two are 2000s gems

9. The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle
10. The Ghost of Tom Joad
11. Letter To You
12. Tunnel of Love
13. Western Stars
14. The Rising
15. High Hopes
16. Working on a Dream

These albums have some songs I like though others I don't care about at all. It seems like some other fans are bigger on Tunnel of Love than me.

17. Devils & Dust
18. Lucky Town

I think after trying listening to these ones a few times I never really went back.

Mike Patton
(really it's an impossible task, too diverse - the film scores are all pretty interesting and I had a real hard time fitting them in - I left a few albums off because I didn't remember them enough or his participation was of too little importance - I'm sure I'd change it around any other day)

Good list..
I think mine would be,
1- Justice..
2- Black
3- Puppets

Some of the later albums I've never heard (& probably won't) , so can't offer a fair assessment. I did see them on their St. Anger tour at the Forum. This was years after the Lakers had vacated it & moved to Staples. So I kinda wanted to experience the defunct Forum. I don't remember any St Anger songs they played, but it was an otherwise good set, Godsmack opened.

I was there! Think they played 2 songs from St Anger. Was also the live debut of Dyers Eve!
