I don't think he's that old .I think there's some hockey left in him.He will be feeding the cat soon enough

raymond being able to learn from dbc and kane would make him pretty unbelievable. He has (mostly) already learned that he needs to shoot more and he has. He is more physical too (even without the bench hit) so he is learning to fight for his space more. Couple that with some elite players teaching him and growing his already high hockey iq, could get dirty, fast.I think it also possibly unlocks Raymond who is at his best when he has the puck. He needs his own line to drive.
Kane was jerked around by Blackhawks management for years always trading away anyone he had chemistry with it makes sense he wants to play with former linemates.
Rangers better chance to win now and he has said he isn't interested in going to a rebuilding team.
As a Blackhawk fan it just seems wrong picturing him a Red Wing
Obvious when you traded for himNot sure Id want him back on the Rangers even for something like minimum salary.
He was a dud and he's just gonna get in the way of lines and PP units.
No thanks.
Processing the game too fast for many line mates…. Makes me think of the issue Crosby had earlier on. Wasn’t just anybody that could play with himHe has to be licking his chops to slide onto that line. Debrincat is leading the league in scoring, and Larkin is one of the few Cs who gains the zone at will. It’s much more than that though…
This cannot be overstated enough. When you “think the game” at such a high rate like Kane does, 99% of the time your own linemates can’t keep up with what you’re thinking IN REAL TIME. Physical speed is only half of that equation for Kane. Debrincat processes, and thinks the game at that same level, and he does it with speed. That’s what made them so good together. It really is a huge advantage, and it’s a little rare for two wingers to have this together.
I’m actually a little surprised how nicely Larkin is doing the same with Debrincat right now. Maybe he’s just been stuck in a place who hasn’t had a player to bring out those skills. Who knows, but it’s looking really good right now.
That’s why Kane is so interested in Detroit more than people would think. Now, Detroit has to want him enough to meet his salary demands too, as well as accepting his medicals, but it cannot be overstated, what an advantage it is, for Kane to know there’s a player there, who thinks the game at the same level as he does, and can also do it, at the same speed.
It can get very frustrating for a player with those skills, not to have someone on his line/team who can keep up with him in this regard. He doesn’t have to worry about that if he signs in Detroit. It’s not to say there’s nobody in Buffalo that can’t happen with, but he knows there’s one in Detroit..
Buffalo isn’t throwing insane money at Kane.1.22M - COL cap space (LTIR giving up more?)
1.57M - NYR cap space (Cuylle down)
1.60M - DAL cap space (Johnston down)
4.90M - DET cap space (Berggren down)
9.00M - BUF cap space
COL, DAL and NYR can't compete with money, but they are better contenders.
Buffalo can throw insane money, if they like to. Kane could still avoid them.
Detroit cap space it's just realistic. 4.0-4.5M for Patty Kane. Sign me in.
Not sure about the COL capspace. Is there only 1.2M or could there be more thanks to LTIR ?
Tuch on the 4 th lineKane's going to Buffalo on a 1-yr $4.5M 'show-me" deal. Good amount of history with both Adams & Granato, slots into the top-6 w very good potential for lots of PP time & he gets to play at home.
Come December:

Granato doesn't employ a traditional "4th line".Tuch on the 4 th line
