If you actually want to deter players from doing that stuff, suspend him for 10+ games. <5 isn't enough, and a fight isn't going to prevent anything in the future.

Hell, we had a supposed deterrent connoisseur for two seasons in Glass. It didn't stop McDonagh from getting assassinated by Leo Komarov. Didn't stop Miller from getting decapitated by Dustin Byfuglein. Didn't stop Nash from getting ragdolled by Bogosian and it didn't stop Jordin Tootoo from running buckwild during our PT clinching game.

The club needs to show initiative to protect their pride and honor and train an Olympic level martial arts specialist to become a fluid skater. Bulk up to 400 of pure muscle mass at 6'8 and titanium implants in his hands. Fight twice a game to avoid the game misconduct. sharp angle shot trying to catch our goaltender napping? That's a dozen falcon punches to the face. Deked our top defenseman? That's going to cost you 6 teeth. Cycling the puck too much? That's a seismic toss down to the ice. Opposing goaltender makes the save on a 2 on 1? facial reconstruction surgury.

I dont believe it is about having the right people on the ice or not. When your team mate gets run over like that you have to react.

Even in soccer when a star player gets kicked down by a dirty tackle you get a scrum.

I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of reaction from the Ranger players.
