Yup. That's your 6-in-5 pace right there, which almost universally is accepted as a guaranteed playoff spot.97 points for a playoff spot is insanely high.

On the plus side, us beating Boston means we get to watch Tampa destroy New Jersey in 4.
lol have you ever met someone from New Jersey?
I’m happy the cats turned their season around. There was a point where they were literally laughed at and unwatchable THIS season. Nice rebound season after last year’s in-house drama.
Daddy was a hell of a pickup. He was huge down the stretch. I’m looking forward to next season.
I heard the same, I think Goldie mentioned it last game.I read somewhere that over the last 30 games the three teams we were chasing (lumbus, devils and flyers) they combined for 4 regulation losses.

Combined. Can't win every game well they pretty much did.
Is that 30 games combined or?
Hmm, didn't know they were that bad vs. good teams for almost two months.
I'm sure Panther fans are hoping NYR has bad luck in the lottery Said this to Canes fans on their page.
I think the non playoff teams should all have an equal draw for the top pick. Would eliminate all this "tank" talk, real or imagined, and doesn't penalize a team for finishing 9-10th in their conference.
That's a great idea. Decide on rankings for draft per record at all star game.Coming in peace. Was rooting for you to get into the playoffs, but no.
When it comes to lottery-odds, I'm wondering why they don't use a solution where they just ignore the last 20-30 games in the standings for the non-playoff teams. Would have cured so much of the "must-lose" talk from teams with bad sportmanship. And the bad teams would get the best odds, as is the agreed plan. Then the teams playing for honor would not have any incentive to lose.
It will be over fast Devils are the worst team to qualify in years lol Keith Kinkaid winning multiple playoff games? No team in the playoffs is going to "destroy" another team.
New Jersey won't have the same success as they did in the regular season against them(3-0-0) but at the same time, I don't see Tampa doing the same to them in turn.
I see this series(if it comes to pass) going at least 6....7 at most.
You lost me at the goaltending. When a team is flat, you just can't blame the goaltending. Nobody standing on their head can do something behind such a "disgrace". And to say he's been atrocious the last part of the season, he (and Georgiev) were often the only thing worth watching besides 3 or 4 usual guys like Kreider Mika and Zucc.the rags are an absolute disgrace!!!!!! i was hoping for a win, but not expecting one, but the rags were atrocious from the first drop of the puck!! no fire, no enthusiasm, no hope. you would think they would show some desperation in their last game against an arch rival, BUT NO!!!!!! they rolled over and died from second one of the game. as far as lundquist, he has been atrocious the last part of the season and today was no different. soft goals. why didn't they use all goaltenders. we would've had a much better chance without lundquest, although the whole team had a major lack of spirit, intensity and guts. what a way to end a season. i hope they are as pathetic next year. as far as the cats. i hope to see maximum effort and hopefully 2 more wins!!!! we have a good team, system and coaching staff going forward, i hope that translates to post season play next year!!!

You say coming in peace but I have no idea what team can you are.
Yotes.... that's why the idea was good! Lol.Been following the Yotes.
I assume I am not the first to suggest something like this. I would hope for a small lottery to place the cut-off, to really do away with the scoreboard-watching. That lottery could be when all teams has played the maximum numbers of games to be counted. So they would have to be willing to remove a range of games from the accounting, 20 to 35 games or so. Do that extra lottery a day or two before the trade deadline, so teams knows more of the value of their picks if they trade them the wrong way (assuming sellers not normally sells picks, but they might.) There would still be teams willing to start the tanking in time to influence. But we got the regular draft-lottery to diminish the fun of that. And it is really hard to prevent management somewhere to throw away a full season if they really insist.
Tanking don't only harm the other teams in the draft, but also makes the tanking teams ruin the whole integrity of the NHL. As you might have experienced here. I do hope the Rangers are this bad though, and not that they not won as a plan. They should have lost their picks entirely if they did. Or their franchise.
Don't know why I came across as a supporter of that other team- who-shouldn't- be - named.
They’ve developed a reputation for diving over the years. So the Canes have decided to try and help the Bruins instead of the Panthers. Okay. Let's not forget this.
I always thought it would be cool if the NHL could implement a relegation and promotion type league similar to soccer in Europe. Would help keep the teams at the bottom motivated and prevent tanking. Although I know this is pure fantasy
It works that way in the Czech Extraliga and it has some appeal (a team who won the cup one year can be fighting against relegation next year), but it can't exist in a salary cap league, the whole setup has to be different. No draft but instead having associated junior leagues where you "raise" your future players, plus there are necessarily big differences between rich and poor teams...Urgh. No thanks. Much prefer the way the NHL currently has it. Also the NHL set up is so different compared to how the football leagues work.

It just wouldn't work in the NHL. And I think the NHL system is more fair - you can't easily buy your way out of trouble or "cheat" on developing players if you want to have success. It's definitely more interesting when it comes to roster building and such.
