I don't know about Peters killing it. Look at the other teams near the Canes on the CF/CA chart. MTL, Oilers and Sharks, none of who are in a playoff spot right now.

Not necessarily. This is just 5 on 5. They’ve left 4 points on the board in OT and the special teams have been below average. 41 GF 5 on 5 to 34 against. Still 5th in the league % wise.

Corsi is clearly useful, but it has never been the only thing. The Canes clearly are a great possession team 5v5 but lack great (although it's better now) goaltending and lack finishers, suck in OT/Shoot outs, and struggle on the PP. Similar story to prior years.

There is so much parity in the league right now that it doesn't take much to move a team from a playoff to non-playoff team.
