I read somewhere that we have lost 10 straight WC games against Russia, don't know if I'll even bother watching this one as we certainly looked better before most of those other times.

So Jagr strenghtens our defence?:)

not only our defence, but whole team. It was obvious in game with Swiss, we were harmless, without an idea, only third period after we scored the goal was so so. I think players are more confident with him.

But of course,we need to be better in defence, without any mistakes.

USA beats Switzerland 4-1 (Switzerland inability to score and poor special teams
vs USA good mix of offence and defence)

Russia beats Sweden 5-2 or 5-3 (IIHF want's Russia for final 4).
Finland beats Czech 3-1 (Rinne,Donskoi,Kemppainen will be the "maker").
Canada beats Belarus 8-0 (no team can challenge Canada, early lead 3,4 zip
will take the spirit out of Belarus).

|

USA beats Russia 3-2OT (Richards will out coach Snarok, refs will try,but can't).
Canada beats Finland 6-1 or 6-2 (not even Rinne can stop the Canadian train).

|

Finland beats Russia 2-1 for Bronze (Russians can't beat Finns anymore).
Canada beats USA 7-1 or 7-2 for Gold (no one can challenge team Canada in
this tournament,Canada always beats team USA at the worlds).
(Canada goes the entire tournament with 7 goals per game avg).

Gold: Canada
Silver: USA
Bronze: Finland

Player for player it's..

1 Canada
2 Russia
3 Sweden/Usa
5 Finland/Czechs
7 Switzerland/Belarus

But the Finns seem to always play much better as a team than everyone else - and usually have a great goalie. Now Rinne.

USA 3 - Switzerland 3, OT 4-3 for US
Canada 5 - Belarus 2 (The guy in the picture with 2 points)
Sweden 4 - Russia 3 (Ilya gets angry)
Finland 3 - Czech Republic 2 (The goaltending. The discipline.)

Simple as that.

So it's a hat trick or 5 minutes + game misconduct and therefore 2 goals for Sweden in PP? :sarcasm:

you guys really think Ovechkin is going to come over? That game 7 loss was a huge downer for him, I'm not sure he's going to be up for flying all the way over just for 2 games.

He'll join the team tomorrow in Prague if Russia wins their 1/4 final.

He always comes. No doubt, unfortunately for opposing teams.

They can, but it's way harder when the zebras blow neutral. I'm still counting Russia as a group of stars, not as a strong team. That's why Sweden will go past them. All credit to our eastern neighbor.

You have to factor in the obvious fact that the IIHF brazenly persecutes Finland in order to carry out its scheme of elevating Russia to the top plateau, so its likely they will intervene on behalf of Russia against Sweden as well!

?

This should be a goal-fest. Two offensive minded teams. It will probably be a pretty ill-minded game too. As a Swede I've noticed a new kind of hate towards Russian players and management from the Swedish ditto, over the last years. Don't know why/what exact reason really, it's just there..
