First shift I see from Prokhorkin, was a terrible dive. So called boarding, but he goes down like he was shot.

Next shift, he adds an assist. 1-0 Russia.

Had a couple of teriffic shifts and a defensive zone turnover that would make Spezza proud.

Also Frolov scored (not on a wraparound, heh) just throwing the puck in front of the goal and it deflected in...

Prokhorkin also just had a nice hard hit along the boards...
And a teriffic backcheck preventing a breakaway...

The kid has been the best player in the first period on either team by a mile...Impressive to say the least...

Indeed, Prokhorkin is quite physical, so when things dont work out in the NHL, perhaps he is suited as 3rd/4th liner.

Fedorovs skating stride is still beautifull. Frolov has been MIA since the 1st goal/1st shift.

Love all the updates! Thanks everyone! But someone please explain to me what the heck is the Spengler Cup I notice there is an AHL team, a Canadian team, Few KHL teams etc. When did this tourney come about. Been following Hockey for over 25 years never even heard of it.
