What Porkins is accomplishing is a very unique thing. Players his age who have done as well have or are having pretty great careers.

Keep em flying Porkins!

Not sure this means anything but fun to look nevertheless:

82 Alexander Frolov L 22 3 8 11 4 -12 1982-06-19 31
74 Nikolay Prokhorkin L 30 14 8 22 37 5 1993-09-17 19

Nice...

He is on pace with 2012-13 Kevin Dallman point totals. Only hope he can put in another gear and reach Randy Robitaille status.

I definitely remember you getting upset at the Kings not drafting Anton Slepyshev :)

Still am. But I look at it as they traded the right to draft him for Zykov, which is a killer deal for the Kings.

Code:
GP, G, A, PTS, PIM, +/-, Birthdate, Age

Alexander Frolov	L	42	18	13	31	4	+16	1982-06-19 2001/2002
Nikolay Prokhorkin	L	30	14	8	22	37	+5	1993-09-17 2013/2014

and in those days it was harder to score. ;)

Does this kid have any shot at all of making the Russian Olympic team? I would guess probably not, so we may not see him play against NHLer's for a while. Maybe he will be on the Russian team that plays in the World Championships?

Frolov plays a style that would actually be okay with Richards and Carter, but Dwight King plays such a great heavy game that I am happy with what we have.

I seriously doubt it, they have a bunch of spots locked up by Ovy, Malkin, Semin and Datsyuk (assuming health in some cases). Guys with star power, but less experience over here, like Yakupov, will probably get spots. I'm sure their are some older guys do really well in the KHL, that got left off in 2010.

Fact remains the Russians prefer to line up players from their own league.

Obviously the NHL stars will all be a lock, but doubt Yakupov has the edge over a player like Prokhorkin when Corky keeps scoring.

People who thinks that he's putting up numbers in the KHL because it's a weak league doesn't have a clue about what he's talking about. It's a different brand of hockey compared to the NHL, but Nikolay is built to play in NA, he's very aggressive and plays a very physical hockey. Besides, he's got great wheels, hockey sense and a hell of a shot. He's the complete package, and he will be an absolute steal for us. In a couple years, when he'll be back in LA, he'll be already a top6 caliber forward in the NHL.
