It's not an @Eye of Ra thread without dumping on Sweden.
I think Finland might be the favorites, either them or Canada. USA is weakened too much in goal but should still contend. Sweden is bringing a pretty meh roster but should also be good enough to contend.
I think Lambert is going to take this tournament apart.

Canada has a not so good team. Probabaly a B team. B team will not win. This is to all you idiots out there that say Canada can bring 2 teams. Lol

This post is way off base. Even with the losses, Team Canada looks terrific - I'm amazed how many strong players we have.

Slovakia basically without it's first 2-3 top lines with which they'd be a serious medal contender. The depth is still alright in comparison with other years, still excited to watch these kids, but guessing quarterfinal game will be their last.

Any team with Bedard, Johnson, McTavish, Stankoven, Zellweger etc is not a B team. Yeah, they are missing a lot of key players, but they're still a favorite for a medal, if not gold.

You know the places Eye of Ra goes to make his millions for being smart enough to be the only one to foresee all those Swedish losses.
Ra... i like your passion..i really do. This prediction is not based in reality. Sweden have an incredibly easy path to 2nd place and it won't be close. The Swiss Roster is terrible and it is still better than what Germany and Austria have. The 2 vs 3 crossover will be interesting but Sweden are not finishing 4th and you need to stop with this nonsense to be taken seriously.

That's a pretty high negativity.
Canada is number 1 favorite to me to win this whole goddamn tourney.
If Canada isn't one team playing in gold medal game then something is terribly wrong.
Bedard, Mctavish and Stankoven trio are difference makers
and those guys will steal games for Canada's advantage.
Finland has OK team in this tournament but i see them being favorites to win Bronze.
Gold would be great but we are already won Olympics and IIHF worlds this year.
So now it's Canada's turn to win in their home ice.

Can the fans of their teams give a list of notable players who will not play in the championship? I assume the Canadian list is the longest but I don't feel like looking it up..
