3) Lucic gets a contract with the oilers we hate because Dallas stepped up at the last moment and offered a 7 year deal at 7mill
4) Oilers offer sheet a d-man
5) Lander to Red Wings for a 5th
6) Demers signs with the devils

Can anyone who's actually seen Connolly play recently tell me what we'd be getting if that was a minor deal that Chia made? I know he's somewhat physical and has some skill that he hasn't really been able to put together at the NHL level, but hows the rest of his play like his 2-way game, his board work etc.

I don't expect a busy day via trading per usual July 1sts. All hype, no trades.

3. Somehow Fayne is gone
4. Lucic/Demers don't rob us
5. Decent centerman is signed if Nuge is dealt

I know he's somewhat physical and has some skill that he hasn't really been able to put together at the NHL level, but hows the rest of his play like his 2-way game, his board work etc.

I saw him in a few games with Boston last year, and he caught my eye as I was all about him in his draft year. He made some nice plays, looked strong on a few forecheck rushes. He still has his offensive instincts, he made some high skill plays and capitalized on a turnover using his intelligence and size.
But frankly, overall I was unimpressed. All those injuries have worn him down. Once or twice I saw him pull back from landing a hit, he was invisible most periods, seemed gassed at the end of his shifts looked a little hesitant and unassertive I thought.

I'd be up for signing him on the cheap and hoping for a gem, but he is another oft-injured, inconsistent fourthliner, with a two-way game nothing to write home about imo. If he can stay healthy and build back his confidence, there's probably more in him,
