The problem isn't McDonagh. When you put that much onus on the point man to create everything from up high with a PKer on him, Jesus Christ can't make it work. If we put Karlsson in McDonagh's position with our PP, he would look above average at best.

disagree

mcdonagh doesnt have the offensive ability that a pp point man needs.

he skates beautifully, carries the mail, and he's smart, but his offense isnt instinctive. he doesn't make the right reads, passes, take the right shots, heck he's rarely ever in the right place most of the time.

his shot is average at best or below, he's not the most skilled at taking one timers and prefers to tee the puck up and he still misses the net after taking way too much time to deliver.

as long as 27 is the pp point man, the pp will suck. period.

And... scene

The power play has been an absolute abortion for a while now. It costs us every post season when the games get more intesnse and tighter.

If u watched this year, teams got crazy agrresive against us while killing their penalties.

Why???

Because this team can't handle being pressured in ANY zone. Power play should be ripped to below the foundation and start over

That has been said for well over a decade. Seems like the names change, but the prancing on the perimeter remains. Might as well have Nedved, Hlavac & Devorak out there.

When they decide to stop playing the Hoosier offense, they may actually start to have a chance.
