I think he'll finish around 1,600. That's roughly 69 points for the remaining 4 years of his contract. I know he's said he wants to play out the contract and see where he is at that time.

I'm surprised how much he's slowed. Somehow he still remains effective though and if he can continue to put up around 35% of his points on the PP he should finish with a decent amount of points and maybe Top 10 all time.

4 more seasons of PPG when he plays, but will average 65 games played per. 260 more points gets him to 1585. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play 2 more seasons in a reduced role after that, 55 point seasons. So give him 1695 for his career.

The consensus always has been sid’s game will age well. I’m not so sure now. He hasn’t looked the same since the sports hernia. He might be a shell of himself in 3-4 years
I never thought that was the case. He does a lot of net front battling and pick battling in the corner for a superstar. It's hard to win those battles as.you get beaten down.

I think Sid's game ages like a fine wine. I could see him being incredibly productive into his late 30's. I don't think it's out of the question for him to crack 1800 points.

1600-1700. I don't think Crosby will play past his current contract. You might see him in the organization in a different role.

1325 points by age 33.

He's probably an 85 point guy now, give or take. So lets say he stays at that level for the next 2 seasons (90 points, then 85 points), then drops to around 70-75 for the next 3 seasons (75 points for two of those seasons, then 70 at age 38). So assuming he plays another 5 seasons to age 38, based on those stats, you're looking at an additional 395 points, or rounded up to 400.

So barring injury or more short seasons due to pandemics, he's probably going to finish in the 1700 to 1730 range if he plays until age 38. If he goes beyond that to age 40, he could break 1800.

Again, assuming health and no major time missed for injury.

I could honestly see Crosby taking cheap one year deals in his early 40s like Thornton.

Thornton's doing it so he can get his first Cup, but Crosby...what the hell else is he gonna do with his time? He's the most hockey-absorbed person on the planet. Plus Yzerman was his hero, so he understands the value of a superstar who evolves his role over time. Crosby could easily be a stellar 3C at age 40.

I think if he hits Mario's number, let alone eclipses it, he'll have had an unreal end to his career. I expect him to fall short of that mark, tbh. It all kinda rests on whether he keeps going after his current deal. I imagine Geno and Letang will be done by the time his deal is up, if not before. I can't imagine Sid being super stoked about plodding around the ice with ever-increasing wear and tear bearing down on him in conjunction with age, while we ice a roster full of bargain bin guys or prospects learning at the NHL level. I think he'll probably hang 'em up at the end of this deal.

I would be very surprised if the Penguins went this route after Crosby's done this deal.

I overlooked the obvious. Sid will end his career when he reaches a total that ends in 87. Hopefully that's closer to 1787 or 1887 rather than 1487 or 1587.

Crosby will play until like 42 or 43. Will hit 1700+ points. Would say higher but there will be a few long term injuries in there.

Given he's gone on record of saying he doesn't want to coach and is more interested in the athletics part of it I can see it. I also don't think he'll play until his brain turns into mush so it depends on injuries. He'll also need to be comfortable playing at a level that's not elite which bothered both Mario and Gretzky.
