90 - Joe Thornton
89 - Logan Couture
87 - Joe Pavelski
87 - Brent Burns
87 - Patrick Marleau
86 - Dan Boyle
84 - M.E. Vlasic
84 - Marty Havlat
84 - Brad Stuart
83 - Jason Demers
82 - Tyler Kennedy
82 - Matt Irwin
81 - Justin Braun
81 - Scott Hannan
79 - Raffi Torres
78 - James Sheppard
78 - Tommy Wingels
77 - Adam Burish
76 - Andrew Desjardins
71 - Matt Tennyson

If this stream is correct, it's weird that the top 50 ratings EA listed don't actually match what Brent Burns shows in the stream... Showed him as 89 from EA, 87 in the stream. I'm not trying to defend him as an "89 rated" player in NHL 14, just weird they would just change it like a week later..

Also hate him or like him - Torres should really be like 80-82ish. His hitting and shot is pretty good, hands and defense a bit above average as well. Oh well.

The Top 50 ratings may be from an update. The Early Release may have an older roster.

From the video posted earlier:

Duchene 87 (4 1/2 gold)
Stastny 85
Johnson 85 (4 1/2 red)
Landeskog 85 (4 1/2 gold)
Parenteau 84
Tanguay 84
O'Reilly 84 (4 green)
Hejda 82
Downie 82 (4 gold)
Barrie 82 (4 gold)
McGinn 80 (3 1/2 gold)
Mitchell 79
Wilson 79
Hejduk 78
Sarich 78
Hunwick 77
McLeod 75
Olver 74
Benoit 73
Malone 72
Bordeleau 71

I'm kind of surprised Stastny, EJ, Tanguay, and Barrie are as high as they are. Parenteau is probably an 85, but that's splitting hairs. Overall pretty good list if you ask me. One thing I did notice is the salaries listed included extensions that don't go into effect until 14-15. Hope that's corrected in an update.

Also a little surprised how generous they are with the potential rating system. I would have thought Downie and Barrie would have been less than 4*. I'm shocked that EJ is a 4 1/2 even if it is red.

cant fathom why sam gagner is an 86.... other than kevin lowe phoning in that gagner is a winner as well...

with dynamic ratings, havnt read up if they are in gmc or not.. but if so, when some of these overrated guys play like **** the ov's will then enter into a logical realm

Definitely not in GMC.

The lack of effort in the stats, contract accuracy, and roster makeup in general have my expectations at an all time low.

I hate this Dev team so much.

That is a travesty...OEL should be 85/86.

Another is Marc Methot...only an 83 yet you see guys like Hamhuis being 87. Really just blows my mind.

Only thing methot is better then hamhuis at us hitting don't know why u think its mind blowing that hamhuis is higher

Simple. EA is Vancouver-based. All Vancouver players get overrated all the time. Hamhuis will always be an 87-88. Trade Methot to Vancouver and he can get bloated stats too. But even then, Methot isn't that special.

Wow, Burns and Pavelski getting a lot of love. I'm also surprised to see Demers is an 83. As a Sharks fan, I have to say that's way too high. Especially considering that OEL and Josi are 82. Demers should be 80 tops, and Braun should be in the 82-83 range instead.

Uh, Hamhuis is one of the best defensemen in the league in real life.

Uh, Hamhuis is one of the best defensemen in the league in real life.
He's still right about Methot though, just wrong about who he's criticizing by comparison. Methot should be an 85 and Matt Carle and Andrej Meszaros should not be. Either way, though, the OEL rating is the dumbest one mentioned so far, that's just absurd.

Anyway, someone asked about the Flyers, so here's a sample. Giroux 90 Voracek 88 Hartnell 86 Lecavalier 86 Pronger 85 Timonen 85 Coburn 85 Meszaros 85 Simmonds 85 LSchenn 83 BSchenn 83, Grossman Streit Couturier and Read 82, Talbot 81, Gervais 79

Why the **** is Pronger even still in the game? That's really dumb. Equally bad that he's still 85; there's no evidence he can even play NHL hockey at this point even if you ignore the concussion. Assume that means Savard is still there too.
