Love the optimism though.

Maybe it's the optimist in me, but I don't mind Gillies projections. In saying that though, everyone would need to play to their potential and that is unlikely. And I also can't see us scoring that many goals either. But I wouldn't be surprised at all seeing 2 or 3 of our guys hit those numbers.

We barely hit 200 goals goals for last season, and that is including dmen. We are just magically going to add 50 goals to it without adding dmen goals yet. We would be looking at 270+ goals with dmen this season if that was the case. We would be scoring more than 3.21 Goals per game, that is what Anaheim had, but they had only 263 the entire season. They led the league...

We would have to score at 3.3 goals per game to achieve any of those stats for the players.

Sorry, but that's 240 goals from the forward corps only. What about the other 30 or so goals that come from the defense? The whole team scored 209 goals last season - that projection (around 270) would put them at the top of the league in scoring, an unrealistic expectation at best.

I guess what I should of clarified better (I thought I did), I don't expect our guys to put up those numbers. I see that as basically a "best case" scenario for almost every player, which never happens. As I said in my previous post, I could see 2 or 3 guys breaking out and scoring those numbers.

I don't mind his projections in an ideal world, I agree 100% overall it's unrealistic.

Gillies point totals actually are alright, the totals are assuming that every single player played all 82 games.

For this season? That is waaaay too high.

I think 40 points for Gaudreau is quite within reason. I think he will be your top left winger this year. As long as he can stay healthy, pretty small but shifty, and doesn't get his bell rung, I think you have a star in the making . I understand tempering the enthusiasm is not a bad thing either. ie. Baertschi

We wont have 6 20 goal scorers and one who scores 18.

Again, it's assuming if everyone plays 82 games. His totals are a bit high, but they aren't as farfetched as some think they are. I would probably use his statistics as maximum point production out of every player.

You don't think it's farfetched to suggest that Calgary will lead the NHL in goals?

I think we're gonna see a lot of injuries up front. Engelland gets a full 82 games as he'll bounce back and forth between forward and defense. Giordano plays a stellar shutdown game, but his offense drops a bit.

Engelland plays 27 games before being shipped to the press box/hospital with a broken/torn [body part]. Wotherspoon plays the remaining 55, and plays the full 82 in 15/16.

Are you in Calgary? Because I'll offer you a bet. If Glencross actually manages to hit 30 goals, I'll buy you a beer, if he doesn't, you owe me one. There's no chance in hell he hits 30

Glencross should be able to do that if he gets 1st line LW minutes and plays for at least 75 games of the season. It's a good chance he can do that.

Don't personally see it happening, hence the bet offer lol. Fun, cheap bet haha. Nothing to take too seriously. But yeah, i just don't see it going down that way. I'd say he caps at 26

the only way Glenny scores 30 is if he plays a full season, and develops chemistry similar to what he had with Olli and Iggy/

Unless Glencross plays with Backlund and Hudler it might happen. He would need to play with the best offensive forwards on the team all season. I doubt it though. 25 goals in realistic.

That's pretty decent, the only two I think should be different are Seto and Monahan. I think Monahan will have a better season than they project (I'm assuming they're projecting the sophomore slump), and Seto just won't play that many games this season. I think Stajan's points total (32) is actually pretty much what I would expect from him, tbh.

I don't project Stajan at much lower, 27-28pts. I don't expect many points from him because in the past he's shown he produces with good linemates, I don't think we'll score much this year. I think Monahan will get 45pts (ish), and I think Seto will get around 22.
