It is hard to come up with a criteria for grading players, but I believe that the grade should match the plays role and not production. Examples;

Palmieri: B+ ( would be an A if not for the slow start)
Zajac: B+ ( We all know he should be one of the best 3rd line centers in the NHL)
Hall: B- ( Not entirely his fault, but barely scoring 20 goals and barely more points than Zajac, injuries)
Henrique: C- ( Scored 20 and took a bunch of games off, not even good defensively )
Cam: F (for ****ing Sucked!)
Rookies: C+ ( Suprise better bottom 6 scoring and quality growth, obviously could be better)
Bennett/Noeson: B- ( Strong possession, around 10 goals from ea, and together were one of the Devils better lines before and after Bennetts in juries) Bennet is essentially a rookie. 4th line, you can't ask for more. You may be able to pair with Zajac to form a solid 3rd line.))

Andy Green: B- ( Solid but, didn't play like a number #1 and on other days not like a #2)
Lovejoy: D ( Devils needed to get a player to eat up minutes and that is what he did and nothing else)
Severson: C ( Learning, and a good player who was thrown into the deep too quickly)
Santini: B- ( Played solid and is a rookie, but was a victim of being on a bad team)
Everyone else: H ( Hot mess, Moore can score but not much else, Merill has a good game then 2/3 bad games, too much rotating at the end of the year. Nobody looked great)

Schneider: D (Role is be Starting Goalie, is he the Starting Goalie?!)
Blockaid: B ( Nice bounce back year, making life difficult for the bosses, will he be here next year?)
