Lapierre spot picking....well I'll never

Axelsson was everything you could want in a supporting piece- lockdown defensively, max effort, could chip in here and there. I was a big fan.

From what i remember when seeing him on the national team, he was extremly intesive, fast and had suprsingly good hands. And of course, very good defensive and liked to block shoot.

Jack Edwards was surprised that it was PJ. So was I to be honest :laugh:

There have been 3 fights that I can remember doing a triple take on:

That one
Krug-Stewart
Boyes in the Dave Lewis season IIRC

Hearing the surprise in Jacks voice is priceless

Let's also not forgot just how resilient this guy was. Was it Kluzak that used to call him "Gumby"? He took hits great and small and always got up and skated it off. That might be the one thing that goes the least appreciated.

He was a great person to talk with, I remember one conversation I had with him he got a cut on his forhead the day before the last wives carnival and I asked him why the opposing player never got a penalty as I remembered that incident and he waved his hands and laughed about it. Great player and was one of my favorites.

Did anyone else go to the last wives carnival??
