Any word on Fraser’s status this week? Is he still in the dog house? Any news on the injuries of Gallant and Isaacson?
Cole Fraser should be back, late for team meeting, so benched, Nick still had a sling as of Halloween, not sure about Zach Gallant

According to the examiner...

Robertson returns. Gallant is day to day and is being evaluated today. Isaacson is a longer term injury.

Wonder who will see Isaacsons minutes? Will likely be one of Svoboda, Robertson or Dow.

The Petes played well tonight despite missing three top forwards (including Denoble who was hurt early on) . Wells and the defense could have been better. We kept missing the backdoor guy - Sarnia had few quality chances but took advantage of them.

IMO both the Petes and Sarnia confirmed tonight that an upgrade is needed on their blue line if they are going to cement themselves as top teams. The Petes gave the Sting too much respect early on. Sarnia is deadly when they are allowed time and space which was evident in the 1st period. I thought the Petes were sunk when Denoble left the game half way through the first period and the Sting leading 3 to 0.
Great to see a number of guys step up. Bobby Dow moved into Denoble's spot in front of the net on the PP and played well. You could see that the Petes were missing Denoble's LH shot for the re-direction play on the PP, but tonight Korostelev was not be denied. Korostelev with 4 points, including the hat-trick (I hope someone tells him that the Petes are playing Sarnia every game). Ang was a beast tonight, also had 4 points and was dominant every time he was on the ice.

The boys will get a well deserved rest Friday night before hosting Barrie Saturday. The team depth looks as though it will really be tested in the near future.

Good post Bra Wavers. I really liked what I saw from the Petes last night. We controlled the game and outshot the #1 team and we had a depleted lineup. Yes Dow and Korostelev had their best games of the year. Can't leave out SDA who is an underrated gem with his speed, puck-handling and vision. Ang was the best player on the ice which is saying something because we were playing Sarnia. Hope Denoble is okay - he took a late-ish hit into the boards. Dow also got a head check at centre-ice but was okay. Tough loss but a confidence-boost for the Petes.

Question for Pete fans: In the first period the Sting took 7 shots and scored on 4 of them. Were you a little surprised they didn't make a goalie change?

I was, yes. Easy to say in hindsight but if Jones comes into that game I think we may have gotten 2 points.

Yeah, Wells would like a few of them back I think. If you watch the highlights, there's an awful lot of daylight to shoot at on all those first period goals scored by both teams. There were some nice screens as well and they were making the goalies move laterally but still, a lot of net there for the taking.

I don't know why Jones didn't play any of the three games last week either but then I rarely see things the same way as Jody Hull apparently does.

Junior hockey can be so unpredictable....
Oshawa 4 - Petes 1
Sarnia 7 - Petes 5

Kingston 7 - Sarnia 1
Erie 8 - Oshawa 0

and last night Barrie beat Ottawa 4 - 2.......so what happens at the PMC on Saturday night?

It's game 18 for the Petes and Jones hasn't played a single game at home to date. In fact, he hasn't played in two weeks. Would you start him tonight?

I would play Jones Sunday but I agree that they have to give him more opportunities. Wells needs to get a different perspective by sitting out. Might help his head and give him rest. The defence needs to tighten up. We were spoiled last year with 2 overage defensive defencemen, Black, Spencer and Timms. Timms still isn't himself but it will come. He is a consistent contributor with his points what with a point a game so far.

Please beat Barrie in regulation.
Win in OT. But the Petes kept finding ways to keep Barrie in the game. Lots of errors but the Petes were playing with 2 1/2 lines pretty much after Timleck left the game (another injury?) It's amazing how many turnovers and penalties the Petes are getting that are costing them in games where they carry the play.

I'm sure the Petes are feeling some pressure from Wells, his agent and Hockey Canada to play him as much as possible leading up to the WJC camp in early Decemeber. Wells' other competition in goal is Michael DiPietro and Carter Hart. DiPietro has played in 17 of 18 games for Windsor and Hart has just returned from injury. At this point I'm guessing that Wells is the odd man out so far. He will need to get hot between now and December 12th. Next Thursday vs the Russians in Owen Sound would be a good opportunity to get back on track and show HC he deserves a spot.

very true and hockey canada loves dipietro and harts been there so it'll be tough for wells. If he had been putting up good #'s thought he'd have a great chance but last few games he's dropped i'd say and wont recover to me to get picked for WJ's but thats ok for us too bad for wells. Another sign of jody not willing to put in younger guys they have to play so they are ready to take over the next year!! Jones has to get some games in as well

I’d have to figure that Johnny Ang will be in the mix for a spot on the Canadian juniors with his play. I know he hasn’t been on their radar in recent years because of his inconsistent play, be he has looked very good and might be a nice weapon for Canada to have, even if it is just as a 4th line guy and PK specialist

would rather not say too much neg about johnny but dont think he fits the hockey canada mould im afraid and id be surprised if he made that team not taking anything away from his excellent offensive talents

Where's the D? Lost 9-2 to the Steelheads, and Hunter Jones got peppered with 62 shots.. and Ang will be missing some significant time to suspension, as he was nailed with a match penalty on a cross check..

Half the team is injured, who exactly do you expect to be on the ice?
