If there wasn't a Leaf game tonight I would probably start breaking stuff lol. Of course it's gotta be against the pens though. Bruins and Tampa are pretty much to far ahead to catch up to and Florida is puttering around 13 or 15 points behind us so really just have to get their game going strong and try and finish the season on a positive note. A loss tonight would be terrible from a moral standpoint around here with another 4 days until the next game so that's another (small) reason why a win would be really great tonight.

Man it'd be nice to get back on track tonight. PK will be key again....but scoring a bunch of goals against their no name goalies probably even more key. Gonna be tough either way.

Legend:

Letter Grades = Quality of Competition measured by opponents' time on ice, Converted into Letter Grades for simplicity
p60 = points per 60 minutes
CF% = Corsi For Percentage (i.e. shot attempts for percentage)
xGF% = Expected Goals For Percentage (i.e. shot attempt percentage adjusted for shot quality) - this stat is already adjusted for zone deployment and game score
In Brackets = CF% and xGF% relative to team
dsv% = difference between save percentage and expected save percentage

 Babcock is one of the few individuals who's voice I hear when reading their quote.
Oddly enough Paul Hendrik would be the other one.
My Babcock impression's getting half-decent - Keep your upper lip tucked to your teeth, give yourself a little under-bite, pout your lower lip out a bit, and break your sentences down into short segments with a bit of a western-Canadian twang. It's a fun one.

Morgan Freeman is one of the bigger ones for me, with regards to hearing their voice while reading quotes.

This goes without saying but the Leafs need to score the 1st goal of the game and not allow it which has happened a lot more recently and it's happened early against them.

12 points behind with 3 games in hand. It would be foolish to lay back right now. Every game is important right to the end.

I didn't say they should lay off, but they have the opportunity to work out the kinks without having a team breathing right down our necks. Lets not forget the Panthers play the Bruins four more times this season. Really weird schedule this season with teams going almost the whole season without seeing certain teams in their conference and then play them 4 times in 3 weeks lol.

Obviously the Leafs need to do their part and win. However since it's obvious they will finish 3rd in the Atlantic if the Bruins defeated the Panthers four times in regulation that wouldn't be the worst thing for us since they are behind Toronto in the standings.

Odd thing is, Florida fans are hoping they don't catch us because they don't want to play Boston in the first round. Best just to accept there isn't going to be an easy 1st round.

At this point I'd rather the Bruins sweep them (Puke, gross) just for my own piece of mind. A small part of me still has that 18-wheeler-going-off-a-cliff reflex from years past even though it makes no sense to me logically. I guess a lot of us are still scarred lol.

But f*** the Bruins though, I can't wait to see the Leafs beat those guys in the playoffs.

Edit: thought I was in the out of town thread.

A Leafs win tonight will calm everyone's nerves, so let's hope that's what we get.
