When the Pens changed to the Black and Gold jersey in January 1980 (inspired by the recent successes of the Steelers and Pirates), who was the captain of the team? I guessed wrong (not Rick Kehoe).

While I love the diagonal Pittsburgh jersey and wanted that as our away to match the traditional black and yellow we've taken on burn everything blue/baby blue. Both of no true success or in recent years tragic franchise happens have been good. They've been in fact just bad.

I highly doubt those will be the Stadium Series jerseys. You think they'd unveil a special jersey during the 50th anniversary year by plopping a shirsey on an online store? Doesn't add up for me. Just seems like a retro thing to celebrate the 50 years. The real jersey will be released later with much fanfare, I imagine.

Guess I'm the only Pens fan in the world who likes the Pens in blue and hopes it's a blue throwback. Of course it's cool that the Penguins are back to Black and Gold full time to match the Stillers n Buccos, but I think it's neat that the Pens are Black and Gold(and sometimes baby blue.) It's a way to switch things up every now and then.

I hope it's just a 1-off of the original Pens baby blue without it becoming a 3rd jersey. But I hope they do introduce a blue 3rd in like 5+ years after their current classics settle back in.
