Wonder what it feels like to have a 50 win team...

Sidney Crosby leads the NHL with 989 faceoff wins in 2023.24. He has 189 more faceoff wins than the Rangers’ Vincent Trochek (800).

Crosby is also three points shy of ensuring that he will average a point per game for the 19th time in his 19 NHL seasons. Throughout NHL history, only Wayne Gretzky (19) has recorded more point-per-game seasons than Crosby.

Crosby enters tonight’s game four assists shy of 1,000 in his career. Crosby is looking to become just the 14th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 assists, and is looking to become the seventh-fastest player to 1,000 assists. Crosby would also be just the seventh skater all-time to reach this milestone with one team.

Jeff Carter enters tonight’s game one goal shy of the 10-goal plateau. His next goal would mark the 19th season he’s reached double digit goals, a feat that only 25 players in NHL history have accomplished. Only Alex Ovechkin (19) has more 10-goal seasons among active players.

... HCMS gonna force feed more minutes

Rangers coming in on a 5 game winning streak. They are 7-2-1 against us in the last 10 (just saw stats). Doesn't look good.

Wonder which youth are playing today. Wouldn't mind if Ludvig makes his presence known :).

Ludvig knocked himself out against a much smaller Faksa/Stars. Not sure what presence he can demonstrate against a brutish Rangers club.

I'm here for it though.

Ah...I don't remember the Faksa stars hit anymore, though stuff happens, position, leverage, etc.

6'1" 213lbs isn't little (Trouba is 6'3" 209lbs for context), and he has shown some nasty. He doesn't hesitate to clock someone coming in.

Though he hasn't done that in a few games, so wondering if he's being Sullified (aka don't take a chance for the big hit and get out of position).

Rags are scumbag hockey. Trouba can't stop won't stop with the elbows and cheap shots and has a bash brother now in Rempe who's a monster.

Ludvig as our tough guy is on-brand with Penguins hockey and, as you've pointed out, he's probably forbade from throwing any checks anyhow. Sullivan has always been allergic to physical hockey.

How many youth we play is not enough because Carter will get a sweater lol

5-2 Rangers but the Pens will have a good compete level, a few bounces just wont go their way.
Sounds like a really good postgame presser…

Pens are looking like a top 10 pick based on the standings and a schedule that will get tougher from here. For me, Pens need to get top 10 pick and some lottery luck to boot. Hard to see how the Caps and Flyers are looking to be playoff contenders. Just goes to show how poor this season really went. FSG is not exactly killing it with the Red Sox. although Liverpool is doing well.

At least it will be something interesting to watch for. Would be great to have Gruden (and anybody else) that plays with a bit of an edge in the game. Though you know Sully won't do that.

It's a shame that Byfuglien retired, and we never considered getting him.

Don't forget that Carter gets over 14 minutes of ice time. Very important part of our "identity".
