He tends to make his biggest deals in December-January though, and I doubt there will be enough there to make him comfortable with Sheahan.

He’s been everything I felt he would be though, don’t know how anyone could be unhappy with the deal. Well those who didn’t makes asses of themselves after it went down I mean...

“Ohs nos Wilsooooon”

Why do people continuously perpetuate this straight up lie? Jimmy makes his big deals in December - January! This is just false.

Bonino trade - summer
Hornqvist trade -summer
Kessel trade - summer

We acquired Hags in January and Cole in March.

But let’s keep making up lies to fit your agenda!

Jimmy misplayed it this summer with failing to find proper replacements for all of the free agents he let walk. He still has yet to fix all of the holes adequately. But please stop lying in your posts.

Don’t forget the biggest swindle ever. Daley for Scuderi! Two years next Thursday.

Making you look stupid will be my pleasure:

Doug Weight - Jan
Rod Brind'Amour - Jan
Trevor Daley - Dec
Carl Hagelin - Jan
David Perron - Jan

Daily stat check for Martin Hanzal.

He has...

Three points.

Damn! That be a lot of points!

For a goalie.

He has 1 assist all season wtf?

Detroit sucks!
Apparently they aren’t playing him to his strengths (like Chicago wasn’t).

He wasn’t as good for us in his 2nd year here but still produced and could skate out of trouble.

Haha again, I said sign Bones before Hanzal. But I’m sure you are in the crowd of Sheahan is good! He’s on pace for 50 points as of late. I like him!

You are really going back 17 years when Jimmy acquired Brind’Amour? 11 years for Weight?

Why wouldn’t you look to his recent history when he’s made his deals in the offseason, like a normal person????

Jimmy did x 17 years ago, so he will do it this year!

This is a classic homer trying to spin something to defend Jimmy. Oh crap, it’s December and Jimmy hasn’t done enough so let’s look back to islolates instances, from 20 years ago, to defend him!

Ya, let's ignore a GMs history now because I showed you up.

Looks like those last three trades were recent... with the Pens! Would ya look at that!

Hey don't be so down that I made you look so stupid for trying to call me out (even though anyone with common sense would have ya know, at least checked JR's trading history before spouting off)

Maybe Martin Hanzal got that elusive fourth point since my last post...

Ah damn boss, he still has three.

Yea, you sure showed me! Ignore his recent transactions for Kessel, Horny and Bones because he once landed Brind’Amour almost 20 years ago in a pre salary cap era!

You aren’t cherry picking here. Jimmy’s been a gm for so long, I’m sure I could look at all of his off-season moves from the last 20 years and make you look even worse.

Keep drinking the kool aid

So a GM who made big moves in Dec-Jan 20 years ago and is still doing it recently... doesn't show a pattern... interesting... very interesting...

But wait... admitting that would mean you look stupid for not knowing his trading history and rambling on earlier.

Quite the conundrum.

I just don’t think what he did 20 years ago has any relevance for today’s team. The entire landscape of the league was just a tad different back then. It’s totally irrelevant, I hate to break it to you.

In terms of in season that’s when he wants to do it. He’s said that before. A new roster gets 2-3 months and if something needs adjusting he would prefer to get in early. If you make deals just at the deadline you are stuck with it.

Uh, why do you keep ignoring the three trades he made in Dec-Jan as the Pens GM... he did it 20 yrs ago and just recently.

It's called a pattern.

Kind of stuck huh? Can't admit the obvious now without looking stupid.

Do your research next time before making idiotic posts trying to call people out.

You said he his “Biggest moves” have been made in Dec-Jan.
Id day Kessel, Bones and Horny were bigger moves than Perron, Daley and Horny.

Reading comprehension goes a long way.

I said he "tends to make his biggest moves in Dec-Jan" not "his biggest moves have been Dec-Jan" as Emp and I were talking about trading between now and the deadline, so mentioning the summer is a moot point.

So are you done making an ass of yourself or are you kind of regretting not doing your research before calling me a liar and spouting off?

Pssst... you said Horny twice... I know, this is starting to get embarrassing huh...

I agree with your assessment on Sheahan. I disagree with you on too many exciting players. We have too many guys in our bottom 6 who are specialist who are average at their specialty and cannot add offense. This team is built on 4 lines of offense. That's why nobody could beat us in a best of 7. Now we have..

Reaves - fighter/enforcer - no offense
Kuhn - PK/shot blocker - no offense
Rowney - grinder - no offense
McKegg - grinder/pk - no offense
Archi - energy guy - offense to be determined on 4th line (Sully doesn't play him)
Hags - energy guy at this point - no offense

I'm fine with one of reaves/kuhn/rowney/mckegg/archi. I am not okay with all of them. Especially if we are using a 3rd line center pivot who plays a solid boring defensive game.

I exaggerated for effect. More for sarcasm. By exciting I did not mean scoring but more meant screwing up leading to odd man rushes the other way. Bad exciting. Fleury flubbing it behind the net exciting.

Give me boring Riley every day of the week.

You will just change your narrative in February if Jimmy fails to make any trades in December or January. Well actually, Jimmy makes a lot of deals in February! He acquired Vrbata in March 2003!!

Why would it take him 2-3 months to realize this team has huge holes before making trades? It became apparent on July 2nd that this team was in serious trouble.

I won't change anything because I don't care that much - it's just hockey.

That's why you are giving yourself an ulcer and I'm enjoying the season.

If he doesn't make a trade, it would tell me the market was too steep and I'll be glad he didn't do anything stupid like trade Sprong for a third pivot.
