Great news! :handclap: It will be important they can hold on to their young stars and Barkov is certainly one of the cornerstones to build on. :) Alot more to come from the great Finn, I'm sure he will get better each season. Already a beast in both ends of the ice...exciting times ahead!

No movement clause. You can't send him to minors/waiver. So basically he must be bought out, if we wanna get rid of him. But I don't think we want to.

Okej thanks. Still learning these hfboards acronyms.

If he doesn't score tonight, he sucks and Tallon overpaid. :sarcasm:

Wonder how the 8 year negotiations looked like. Wonder if they went to 6 years to keep the cap hit below 6m

Barkovs 5.9 + Bjugstads 4.1 = 10.

I like even numbers think Tallons does to.

Awesome news! First Olli Jokinen, now Barky (hopefully with more success)

Only condition to be signed was: no shot blocking with your hands anymore!

Kinda interesting with those NMC/NTC clauses, why NMC specifically for year 5?
7 NHL seasons (or age 27, but that is pointless in Barkov's case) is the threshold for receiving a NMC/NTC, Barkov reaches it at that point.

Awesome deal.

Ekblad won't be the next priority only because he can't be re-signed until the summer. The next biggest priority is Gudbranson since he'll be RFA.

Between this (Barkov) and the Bjugstad deal, Dale has some real solid work. Yes it boggles the mind how he overpaid for Bolland. At least that's seen as a minor hiccup in his great work instead of a trend.

Are they streaming it anywhere?

No, but George Richards will be videoing it live on Periscope.

They did a live stream of Luongo's trade, Barkov is a big part of the franchise, not sure why they wouldn't stream this.

I'd imagine that they recorded it and it'll show up on the team site later.

Or/and a compressed version during tonight's game.
