Quinn's about to win a Norris Trophy, deservedly so and that's why Vancouver says no.
Well deserved. He’s a great player having a fantastic season. At the same time, Buffalo has 3 Dman that have the ability to win a Norris in their own right. The 3 together are just now showcasing what they can do together. No reason to interrupt the team cohesion at the moment.

IMO Buffalo has zero reason to trade Power right now Short of something happening where Florida wants to trade Tkachuk or New Jersey wanted to offer Hughes. In that case, Buffalo would likely listen to an offer. There's no way they trade him for lesser pieces and draft picks. They got exactly what they wanted. This will be one of the best defense in the NHL for the next six years or more.

To answer the question posed by the thread title, the value of OP is very high.

There are very few comparables, but the most obvious is Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen.

Byram for Mittelstadt fits the bill. Power’s relative youth, contract situation and injury history probably give him a higher price tag.

Sergachev for Drouin is lower-case example. Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall, kinda, except Larsson was 5 years into his career at that point.

So the answer to the thread title is probably a "a young player with a high draft pedigree already performing well at an NHL level."

Teams rarely (never?) ship defencemen picked in the top 5 2 years into their careers.

And when they do something similar, it costs a bundle.

Owen Power should be the D who learns how to play on his offside. This would solve a lot of problems.

Nah. Dahlin has always preferred playing on the right side and looks 100% at home there. Byram and Power can both stay on their natural side also. Everybody’s happy.
