I guess it's the number.....and the size....and the way he plays....but Stankhoven is just a younger, much better Gallagher.

I wonder if we had drafted Bossy? Islanders dynasty never would have happened. They might have got a 1 cup. Habs definitely a couple more in '80s
If we had drafted Bossy and then taken Savard instead of Wickenheiser a couple of years later we would have won 5 straight instead of 4 and probably one or two more. We'd have 26 or 27 Cups by now.

Sidenote: Wickenheiser was head and shoulders the consensus pick. We absolutely ruined that guy. Claude Ruel didn’t want him and that carried over into the regular season. Never would’ve happened under Bowman. Big strong skilled center, no reason he should’ve failed.

💯 %. Wasn't he a healthy scratch against Savard and the Blackhawks early on which really hurt his confidence?

Habs org has been scouring for big bodied top line C for its entire existence - they’ve never been able to internally develop one.

They’ve resorted to buying a Senior league just to get access to one (Le Gros Bill), trading for them Mahovolic, Smith, Damphousse, Turgeon, and numerous failures in trying to address via draft - this has spanned 14-GMs over 100 years and still diddly squat… its simply not on their DNA
