So I think it’s fair to start questioning resting everyone in our final game this season. I didn’t like it at the time, and now after seeing Tampa I don’t like it even more.

Classy NBCSN - not. Let's show the injured linesman in the locker area. WTF?

Meh, they've got like 50 cameras for playoff coverage, and there's nothing to show during the injury - so show something is there producer's objective there.

Caps facing the same situation as NJ last game - throw your season starter in net now and pull the hot goalie that got you there?

Might see it and down 2 games to none like us too. Except Washington isn't going home now...

Again...what makes you think we A) would have automatically won the last game even if we played everyone and B) would have been doing any better against the Pens if we had? We weren't playing this Cap team unless we somehow scripted an OT loss.

the only way they would have played the caps is by an OT loss. but it would have been penguins with a win or lightning with a loss. pick your poision

Ehhhh, I don't know if playing them would have made any difference at all in this series. Sometimes you have to jut tip your cap to the other team and chalk it up as a learning experience. It's not to say it's over, but a few guys resting probably doesn't make up the talent and experience gap here.

No it's NOT "fair to say".

Whether it was Boston, Tampa, the Pens(although MAYBE...they would've gotten one on the road in Pittsburgh), or the Craps(still a bad matchup for us), Devils would've been in a similar situation...

Those teams are the class of the East, or in Boston/Pens case, the ASS.

Seth Jones is so f***ing good. Guy is going to be in the Norris conversation for the next decade and a half.

Never said we’d “automatically win” anything. But Tampa is the best team the east and perhaps the most talented in the NHL. I don’t think it was wise to just throw the final game and be okay with facing Tampa (though Boston was still possible then). And I felt that way at the time too.

I mean, we swept Tampa. What makes you think the current situation would have been any different had we drawn pit? Especially with the league favoritism of the pens, we would have been even more screwed.

Second guessing at its finest. I'm just happy to be in the playoffs and the kids getting to experience everything getting ratcheted up a notch in spring
