I actually like CBJ adding Duchene. Gives them the best C depth they've ever had and with how they are built down the middle and on defense they have a solid team.

Questions are how do you replace a top 5 goalie in the league? And can Duchene match Pananrin's production considering he is having a career year at the perfect time and we've seen these stories before.

From Ottawa, I imagine the package has to start with a first round pick. No chance they go into the draft without a pick in the first. They likely get multiple first round picks to try and ease the pain of another team drafting top 5 with your pick (similar to what Burke did with picking Biggs and Percy the year Boston drafted Hamilton)

It's not a lateral move. Columbus is a good team, a playoff-caliber outfit, that simply needs contract stability at this time.

Yes, and my opinion is that if that happens Panarin is heading west, and at the very last second (so he can't be flipped). In other words, some western team is going to get Panarin for a bit less than he's worth as a rental.
