kaleta is the biggest ***** in the league

he took a run, was too scared to even look at fraser(who would ko him)
was petrified of mclaren(who would murder him)
and tried to run away from orr, who ko'd him anyway

its just a shame it wasnt a season ender, but it wont be long until someone ends him for good, and i will celebrate when that happens
(hopefully its peluso)

Pretty sure he wasn't knocked out...let me go back and check...

I just want to see Kaleta play like that all the time. He is nowhere to be seen when there is any deterrent on the ice for the other team. Or, he runs away, and then opens his mouth when the linesmen get between. He's one of those punch and run type of guys. Not much guts, little to no honour. Heck, even his star goalie doesn't like him. He's like Sean Avery lite, except Avery occasionally backed it up, and rarely made dirty hits, and Avery had skill - plus a savvy sense of fashion! :sarcasm:

Like it's been said many times, even going back to junior. This guy deserves everything he gets.

you mean when he tried pulling him off his captain with his gloves on?

I mean when he jumped him from behind.........you don't try and do something like that to someone who's first instinct is to punch first....

Just not smart.

he didn't jump him he was simply grabbing a 4th line goon off his captain no need to fabricate some story to justify a cheap punch

All I'm saying it is not smart to go and grab a guy like Orr who already was in the middle of some sort of scrum from the back......

1. His adrenaline was already at a high level
2. Orr isn't the sort to just turn around and listen to you speak he is going to pop you in the mouth if you grab him from behind

Did Bourque think he was going to turn Orr around and have a chat with him?

I don't know Orr but he doesn't seem like the brightest crayon in the box and his job is too fight...

Not smart on Bourque and if someone tried something like that again on Orr it would probably be the same result

Best way IMO to beat Orr is to watch his fights and examine his style......then fight him and beat him....from watching his fights he leaves himself open for numerous head shots and focuses on offense and no defense.

Yeah, Orr doesn't mind taking hits to dole them out himself. I think most people don't try to fight like Orr against Orr because he'll get the better of them anyways.

As far as people saying, Orr didn't go after Scott...pretty sure both McLaren and Orr have gotten the best of Scott this year.

John Scott is just too nice of a guy to be an enforcer...you can see it in his face.

I hope Orr does this again to Kaleta. Double minor was BS, should have been 2 minutes, it was still worth it.

They might not literally go away, but it makes a psychological difference to see a guy get beat down like that. Especially when he comes off as a coward in the process.

Again, the prototypical example is Claude Lemieux. He didn't just drop out of hockey after the big brawl, but there was a tide shift in that rivalry afterward. Lucic tuning Komisarek pretty much ended Komi as an intimidating player. Ulf Samuelsson played 5 years after Domi decked him, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who remembers anything from those 5 years.

In this case, the Leafs can pretty much laugh in Kaleta's face from this point forward. That's bound to get under HIS skin and suddenly the tables are turned on the pest. It's all a mind game, and this wasn't a particularly good moment for him.

I agree with what you're saying but it doesn't apply here.

Lemieux was beaten and then called out by national media for an entire summer. When he actually dropped the gloves he got beaten again and looked even worse.

Lucic beat the **** out of Komisarek multiple times. Komi actually challenged Lucic and got his ass beat further embarrassing him.

Samuelsson took the mother of all sucker punches and was knocked out cold in the goalies crease. He basically laid there lifeless and his goalie couldn't be bothered to lift an arm. He was obviously concussed from that punch.

All Orr did here was show Kaleta that he could beat on his protective gear for 30 seconds and get thrown out of the game. The guy had prime real estate to tee off on Kaleta's face and he couldn't connect with a single punch.

Not that I really care, but how did Kaleta get a penalty on that play? He literally just stood there and took the punches, never dropped his gloves, never fought back... And got 5 minutes for fighting?

Ott and Kateta are masters at drawing instigator penalties

they give ever indication that they want to fight but chose not to drop gloves at last second

the two fights in this game were agreed upon before the faceoff, but Kateta decided he wanted to draw a penalty by not dropping his gloves and not fight back

the reason he got a penalty himself is the referee realized what led to the fight

Pretty ballsy decision by Orr.. I think it deserves a fine or suspension.

I didn't see what Kaleta did, but i'm sure if he was trying to take runs at my team, I'd feel the same way Leafs fans do right now.

no suspension. White did the same things again Fleshmann and he got nothing. A game and 4min pp is already too much.

I never said I love his style of play. I just find it funny people praise Orr for something that had a greater effect in costing his team a win instead of sending Kaleta some sort of message that matters. Fod gods sake, as Orr was getting escorted to the dressing room, he's standing in the box laughing and clapping at Orr. Jokes on them.

How do you figure? It removed a guy who barely plays while it neutered the other guy all the while doing nothing to cost his team anything.

The bolded is not true, Kaleta and Miller are good friends. Just because miller called him out last week doesn't mean they don't like each other.

Kaleta has backed himself up a few times this year and has proven he can handle himself in a fight. He would rather draw a penalty though.

The hate in this thread for kaleta just shows he is doing his job.

He gave the sabres a 4 min power play , just because they didn't score he still gave the sabres a advantage.

So giving the other team a 4 min PP (I think, didn't catch the game), isn't costing your team? What if the Sabres scored twice or even once.

Orr didn't "neuter" Kaleta either.

Just to add something. Miller was told something that Kaleta said by a reporter that wasn't true.

I hate Kaleta as much as the next guy, but he's effective. He knows Orr gets mad easily and takes stupid penalties. He got his team a four minute PP. He's doing his job.

The refs botched the call, IMO. Kaleta should get nothing. He just took the beating. He shouldn't have got a 5 minute penalty. It should have been 5 mins for Orr fighting, 2 for instigating, no cross check and nothing for Kaleta. And the misconduct for being a second altercation.

Based on the current rules maybe, but there is no way a team shouldn't be able to handle a punk like Kaleta in the exact way Orr did. He has a history of doing what he did the shift prior (running players, diving etc.) and then cowers when challenged.

A day later and you're still delusional. Notice how you're one of the very few trying to say Kaleta didn't get hit at all.
