AA has absolutely blazing speed some team will absolutely give him an opportunity
If he's cheap enough would love to have him on the leafs to replace Kapanen's speed. Sounds like they are pretty similar players in that they have top end speed but the hockey sense leaves you wanting

Edit: should have read one post above ^

In the Past Jim Benning tried to sign Benning, maybe he might offer him a 2way deal to sign with Vancouver. Or maybe Benning's dad with the connections to jim might ask him for help if no one signs Benning.

Oilers are just a mess.

Two 2nds for 12 games of AA.

Traded Marino, who would be their best Dman for a 6th rounder.

Only hope they can salvage JP.

1. Marino would not be our best Dman. Bear was very similar this year, and Klefbom and Nurse are both better.
2. Regardless of that, it wasn't our choice. Marino didn't want to come to Edmonton, partly because of the logjam we have at D.
3. The AA thing wasn't Holland's fault, he couldn't have predicted a global pandemic. And there is still the chance that we manage to sign AA.
4. We finished 2nd in the Pacific this year, 3 points behind the Knights. I think Oilers fans are pretty happy with how are team is looking, it certainly isn't a 'mess'.

I bash the oilers for stupidly but I also point out posters who post uneducated posts without proper context. When the Marino trade happened oiler fans knew it was a bad deal. May have you repost you post of saying the oilers has just taken to the wood shed? Most of posters here know Marino was never going to sign with the oilers. Oiler had a lot of depth and Marino saw it and told the oilers he was not going to sign with them

I could see giving up two seconds fir AA if he was an experienced coming UFA, and he was a rental for a playoff run. But he’s a (was a) cost controlled younger guy. Letting this player walk is a very poor asset management.

Given what the Oilers proceeded to do with the cap space that Anthanasiou and arb risk would have occupied, Holland made a great decision.

Let this be a lesson that "asset management", an HF buzzword, comes in different forms. There is value in cap space.

$4.9M to qualify AA and Benning or $7.757M to sign Puljujarvi, Turris, Ennis, and Barrie

Easy choice.
