Binnington has been hands down the Blues best player this season; he’s single-handedly kept them from an inside track at a top-5 draft pick. Only reason Armstrong should consider moving him is to get said top-5 draft pick, in a year he knows the Blues aren’t a playoff caliber club. Aid the tank, and strengthen the draft-currency.

New Jersey just saw him steal two points from them, as he’s done a few times already this season for the Blues.

Twilight of their heyday. Aka they aren't good anymore. Binnington is nowhere near what he used to be, which is why St. Louis wants out of that contract.

He'd be an upgrade over Skinner/Campbell for no other reason they're both terrible. He isn't good though.
Blues are about to heavily retool. What Binny brings back in picks, prospects, etc. will help with the retool. We have other netminders in the pipeline that are quality. It's one position we're very strong at.

What in the world are you talking about?

We'd be bottom 5 in the league right now if not for him. He's been amazing.

The only reason for the Blues to do this and take back Campbell’s contract is if they get to rake Edmonton over the coals. I’m talking getting their 1st round picks in both 2024 and 2025.

Otherwise, we have no reason to help the Oilers out.

Yea I dont see why Armstrong would take on the remaining 3.75 seasons of Campbells deal. I guess he could buy him out but still. Would have to be a helluva return for him.

The Blues have a better defense than the Oilers. If Binner is getting hung out to dry now, then he's going to be doused in gasoline and set on fire in Edmonton.
That's funny because some sites have the Oilers having the 12th best blueline (I don't agree with that either, but.)

Blues are 26th, which I absolutely agree with.

Now I'm not going to argue with you about which blueline is trash, they both are imo, but the Oilers forwards make ours look fairly pathetic even though both, aside from folks like Drai, are bipolar as hell.

Well some sites also have Hughes as a tier 3B defender. Who cares about some sites

According to Frank, the Oilers are giving Jack a month in the minors and still hoping he finds his game again.

Please let Pickard play decent cap we can win a couple games and get the 900 Oilers panic threads off the mains.

At least after he let's in 5 he'll try to fight someone.

Pretty sure Skinner is only being a goalie because he's waiting for an opening in an 80s porno.

Yeah, that innuendo was intentional.

There’s only a handful of elite goalies in the league. Most goalies these days have to be sheltered and protected by a system. Not saying Campbell/Skinner aren’t bad cause they have been but all these names thrown out to save the Oilers (Gibson,Hart, Binnington) I don’t see much of an improvement. I see these type of goalies getting left out to dry and losing confidence and just slumping there.

I guess you could still make a trade and start in net from scratch cause I think Campbell and Skinner confidence is a 0 right now, but it’s not gonna solve their issues permanently until they figure out their defence issues.

Oh man, if they deal for Binnington and take on that contract... Just thinking of the tantrums to be thrown once he gets lit up if he ever sees the postseason...

What would the realistic ask be for Binnington and Parayko?
Significantly more than 98% of people on this board would think is reasonable given public perceptions of both players that don't accurately portray their skill level.

Realistically if the Blues were to move both, it wouldn't make sense to do so in the same deal as a trade for either would start with the ask of a 2024 1st plus more.

It’s worth keeping in mind Skinner would hardly be the first goalie to struggle after a major life change (birth of his first kid)

Being patient with him is the right call, he saved our asses last year. Campbell’s been trash since day 1 .
