From Oilers Website:

BOSTON, MA - Fresh off their 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday, the Oilers have hit the ice for a light practice at Boston University's Agganis Arena prior to their flight to New Jersey.

All players are participating in today's skate, including defenceman Brandon Davidson who missed the game against the Bruins due to illness.

Benoit Pouliot and Matt Hendricks are doing drills with the blueliners rather than the main forward group.

Stay tuned for post-practice interviews, as well as The Panel presented by Sport Chek.

Was hoping that line said Benoit Pouliot was getting drilled by the blueliners:naughty:

It would be cool to call up Slepyshev, waive Pouliot, and scratch Eberle.

They'd need another winger in the lineup then though... unless they put
Hendricks in on the wing and as much as Eberle is slumping... I don't think Hendricks would be any better.

Definitely support having Slepyshev up and in the lineup though... he did nothing to deserve being sent down and he was actually a positive factor for this team when he was playing.

Honestly... the team should probably just go with 11F and 7D in the lineup. They are playing at least 1 forward every game with minimal minutes anyway and there are several that could use stints in the pressbox.

Having an extra D like Oesterle/Davidson I think might do more good than having a 4th line F who gets just a few minutes and who is likely slumping (and unable to break out with those type of limited minutes as well).

Thanks, couldn't find it anywhere so I figured as much, particularly given his usual yearly goal totals. Would LOVE to see him break 20 (hope that isn't a jinx), the only downside being he will cost a penny to re-sign, but that would be worth it :handclap:

Ship Pouliot out and give him 3 or 3.5 and you have a saving . Anyone have a video of his fight ?

That's just an excuse for performing badly at home. A rink is a rink is a rink. Its boards and a large ice surface. There maybe some nuances here and there with board bounce but at the end of the day, it comes down to execution.

It could be that at home there are too many parties to go to? Too many late nights? Too many cares and demands from friends and family? All that stuff you can escape on the road. I'm not saying that's it but it's something to consider. Sometimes it's just easier to stay focused away from home. When in unfamiliar circumstances or places, it's easier to focus on the task at hand.

They shouldn't have won but they did. RNH with a goal is amazing, even with how he got it. McDavid with the scoring lead, brilliant. What to say about Maroon? Best big man we've had in a long, long time. Only complaint is I have no idea what they are doing with Pulju. Can a reporter seriously not ask that question? Are they going to be banned for asking? There has to be some reason that Mclellan is doing what he's doing. Learning by practicing? Learning the English language from an interpreter? I can't fathom what it is. 3 minutes? Why would you ever give a roster spot to a player who plays 3 minutes? Surely Slepy is better use of a spot than that.

Probably something to that... there's plenty of pressure for this team to produce at home... shiny new half billion dollar rink (nearly anyway)... new optimism about turning a page from the old Rexall disappointment years to the glorious bright McDavid-led resurgence that surely must be on it's way.

On the road it's simpler... hostile crowd is expected and you simply battle and play for at least a point which is a success for this team.. and they've been doing just that with regularity on the road. If they had that attitude at home they'd be a better team overall.
