Pretty much my reaction as well considering after the Manning/Petrovic trades he said that he thought the forwards were fine.

Who would have thought that playing McDavid, Draisaitl, and RNH 25+ minutes a night wasn’t going to be a long term solution? Oh right - everyone.

So by a "goalie", he means Talbot, who's going to have minimal value right now because of his bad season and a pending UFA. And by "young developing forward", he means Yamamoto and Puljujarvi, both of which have struggled in the NHL so far. I can definitely see teams jumping at those guys and offering legitimate forward help for them

But for real, that's just the problem with where the Oilers are at: they have borderline no tradeable assets worth anything.

Saad isn’t worth a first with his deal, and he’s settled into 2nd line production.
