There will be changes and I wouldnt be the least bit surprised to see Luongo in E-Town.
I however an waiting for MPS to arrive, this is his breakout year,he anchored the Barons second line which was the stick that stirred that team, the first line racked up the points but the second line was the pillar behind the sucess they were having.MPS was the catalyst of that 2nd line sucess,he is ready to be a leader, and has looked awsome.Harti is an energy guy but Magnus is already an elite skater and potential defensive specialist with playmaking ability.MPS,Lander and Hartikainen were a stabilising influence when the barons were beginning to tailspin, they pulled it together quite well.

I see MPS working well with Gagner and Yakupov. His size and speed compliment those two and he is defensively capable of useing his speed to back up Yaks offensive thrusts and Sams net presence and inside work.Yak needs to shoot the puck and so does Sam,someone needs to be the disher and the fisher, maybe Magnus will learn to crash the net for rebounds he has already improved at taking the d-man wide and hard.

Horcs has taken his shots already,I am giving the poor guy a mulligan,we have already paid the green fees.Great things ahead as the men continue to file in.

Sure hope MPS plays better than he did last night for OKC in his swan song before TC.

A fine question. It certainly breaks the spirit of the idea, I wonder if the league would allow it?

The idea isn't that bad, but there's no way Redden would ever re-sign with the Rangers, and no way they'd want to re-sign him seeing as this year it looks like his cap hit is on the books and they don't even want him on the ice.

Good for Smytty! From the interview I read and seeing stuff like this and on the ice, he looks like he's ready to turn the page, accept his role and become a real mentor to the kids. Now.... if we could just get out supposed captain to do the same.

I know this is the "Hate on Horcoff" parade, but are we conveniently ignoring the fact that Horcoff has been well reported in doing the same? He had Hall & Ebs over for per-game meals nearly every home game in their rookie years...

Carry on.

Can we rename this the Horcoff arrival thread? Why do we care so much?

We're secretly hoping management told him not to report, because his name is involved in some kind of trade rumor.

IN all honesty though, he's likely networking in Phoenix and Detroit, because he knows he's bought out this summer, and will likely be looking for new employment.

Some of the ownership bashing he did I don't think Katz appreciated. Considering how well he's been treated by this organization.

Unlikely.

Supposedly Horcoff and Katz are good friends.

I bet he shows up tomorrow for physicals with no dramatics and no rumours.

Smytty has impressed me a lot in this regard. Jeez, he had Yakupov calling his teammates family after his first practice.

He's never been the sharpest knife in the drawer but what he lacks in intellect he makes up for in character. It's a travesty that when all is said and done, he'll have never captained the Oilers.

I dont remember the year, but there was a time when Jason Smith was out for an extended period of time and they did give Smyth the C for quite awhile that season. Better than nothing i guess
