Moncton is also losing some key players and their division will be much stronger with Cape Breton, Charlottetown and Saint John.

As of now, Moncton has no starting goaltender.

I have a feeling Brassard may be traded to Moncton at the draft. They had interest in him from Quebec.

Halifax signed that Ryan Heustis kid.... I imagine he's been promised a roster spot. I imagine that means Halifax plans to go with Resop-Heustis as their tandem next season.

The two biggest question marks surrounding next season are drafting two quality euro forwards who'll report and to find a starting goaltender. As far as the goaltender goes , I'm hoping for one of Guidon or Brassard as an overager. Brassard was headed to Moncton in the Sweeney trade that fell through , so they obvisously see him as a fit. Guindon will depend on wether or not Desrosiers returns to Rimouski as a 20 year old. A lot of fans expect him to turn pro but I'm not so sure. He's having an underwhelming year and Dallas have quite a few tenders ahead of him. Lehtonen, Rynnas , Campbell , Kiviaho and Legace are all under contract and you'd have to imagine they'll be re-signing newly acquired Enroth as well. I'd say it's 50/50. If Brassard and Guindon are not available or price is too high , I wouldn't mind giving Joe Flescher a shot from Dummondvillle. He's a big American kid who's had respectable numbers the past couple of seasons and could be had at a reasonable price. 4th rounder maybe ? Then we can re-evaluate at the Christmas trade period. The free agent pool is another option. We've certainly added some great tenders in the past , so this is another option to solve the void in the net.

Brassard/Flescher ?
Dupre

Sweeney - Malatesta
Holwell - FA/PICK
Klebanskj - Tesink

EURO - Askew - Garland
EURO - Johnson - Smith
Leger - Bower - Murphy
Tibbo - Corson - Cormier
Jacob - RJ Murphy

A lot depends on draft choices this upcoming draft , the euro draft and wether or not some of our drafted Americans report.

Josh Hepditch , Doug Doull and Jody Mitchell all applied for the assistant coach job.

Edit: Also heard a rumour that Gordie Dwyer has expressed interest as well.

Mitchell is only part time now right? If he got the job turn they would hire another part time guy to replace him?

I would prefer if Hepditch got a little more experience before Moncton hired him. It seems like he would have a good chance though since he is well known around Moncton.

I like Dwyer considering he brings experience in the league and division and maybe brings some more toughness.
