"Once the trainers cleared him to play, I was excited about it," Marrone said. "You never know. X-rays, tests, things like that. Shows up one day, doesn't show up the next day. Could be out, could be in. Depends on the player. Could be a week, could be four to six weeks, could be longer. I'm not getting into all of that."

Watkins, who was playing for the first time since bruising his ribs Aug. 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, was hit by Lions linebacker Ashlee Palmer after a pass fell incomplete over the middle.
He immediately grabbed for the area under his shoulder pads as he walked back to the huddle. A few moments later, Watkins walked slowly backed to the bench, where he was examined by team doctors.

Good news for week 1.

How does everyone think the Bears will finish this season?

I'm going with 10-6. The offense looks great. Special teams looks like it is going to be better this year too. The defense, I'm just not seeing enough guys step up and show promise so far. They'll be better than last year, but I'm not sure we're going to see the big improvement we wanted. I don't think we will. I'm just hoping the rookies/young players start to show something late in the season and we go into the playoffs with a better D than we had in the regular season.

The only W I'm confident in is the Bills game because 1) it's the Bills and 2) I'm going and the Bears are 3-0 in games I have seen in person in the renovated Soldier Field.

I feel like this Bears team could beat or be beaten by pretty much anyone else.

Yeah, probably. I just posted the individual games for fun. Who the hell knows, they probably beat NE and NO and lose to the Cowboys and Lions for all we know.

They might lose by 30 week 2. That will be an absolute bloodbath.

Don't know about that. SF will be missing a lot of talent on defense for various reasons and has a very questionable secondary. The 49ers' first-team offense has also looked dreadful.

I have faith the Bears offense will be good if healthy

I have absolutely no belief that this D or ST will be better

LB's are worse then last year (Tends to happen when Briggs gets a yr older and Shea becomes a starting LB)

Safeties still suck and Tucker is a lost cause as a coach

ST are just a complete disaster when it comes to coverage and coaching is issue

I really hope they feature Holmes as a return man. He has the vision and experience to give us consistent returns. Definitely not a game breaker but we don't need that, just get us to the 25-40 range as much as possible and it should help this offense score more points. He hasn't done it in awhile but where he is at now in his career, he should be doing it.

I don't think there is a bull market on undrafted white running backs, I'm sure he has a great chance to stick around.

They played a clip on the radio of him saying he'd love to help the Bears prepare for difficult offenses since he can be a running quarterback, running back, or even wide receiver. He expected to be practice squad I'm sure. I think he'll make it through the market too and the Bears will add him to the practice squad.

Yeah, I read about that too. He's the dream guy for the practice squad. Let him develop for a couple years, teams do it all of the time and it works out a lot too. He had the chance to go to New England and other places. He wants to be here, works out nicely for everyone.

Bills and Kyle Orton have agreed to terms on a two-year deal, pending physical.

Kyle must have seen how poorly Manuel has been playing and figured Buffalo is a good spot to potentially make his way back into #1 role

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 7m#Bears will waive WR Josh Bellamy. Good chance he could return as member of practice squad.

Rich Campbell @Rich_Campbell · 32mBears have released CB Kelvin Hayden, as @peggykusinski first reported. Leaves some questions about slot CB behind Tim Jennings.

Brad Biggs
‏@BradBiggs
#Bears will release LB Jerry Franklin.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 2h#Bears will place CB C.J. Wilson on waivers. He had three interceptions over last two preseasons.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 4h#Bears will place LB DeDe Lattimore on waivers. There is a good possibility he could return to the practice squad.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 5h#Bears will terminate the contract of OL Eben Britton. So down to 8 linemen now meaning Charles Leno Jr. likely safe.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 4h#Bears will place WR Chris Williams, the former CFL star, on waivers. He received $125K to come over from #Saints prac squad in December.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 5h#Bears will place Wisconsin OL Ryan Groy on waivers. Groy received signing bonus of $8K as undrafted free agent, tied for high on team.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 19h#Bears can't keep DEs David Bass, Austen Lane & Cornelius Washington. Wonder if they can flip one for a conditional draft pick.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 6h#Bears are going to place C Taylor Boggs on waivers. He is a strong possibility to return to the practice squad.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs · 6h#Bears have informed DB Marcus Trice he will be placed on waivers.

Hill's agent blaming everyone but his client for the disaster

- Blasting Jets coaching/management
- Blasting Sanchez/Tebow/Smith for holding back his client

Ignores the horrendous drops and production of his client. Other WR's on Jets of far less talent played well during similar situation or at least did better then Hill

Remember a few months back when I complained about the Bears safety pickups and the fact both Shea/Conte were one injury away from being starters?

Well looks like both Shea/Conte will be starting for Bears D without injuries :(
