Quick everyone google nickeas..............

For those who might not know... Minor league catcher on a minor league deal, has bounced between Mets and Buffalo the last few years. Can catch Dickey, likely the minor league depth Catcher AA has been trying to get the last little while (Wilson, Whiteside).

Best of all: Canadian. Born in BC.

After everything, I have to admit that was underwhelming.

those prospects are just filler. When I heard "non elite" I thought at least they would be respectable lol

Mike Nikeas is a catcher. Basically no offensive upside at all. Probably ends up as minor league depth/replacement for the lost string of waiver wire catchers in Buffalo

Yup, just a body to put in the minor leagues to replace the exiting D'Arnaud.

Do we know if any cash went to the Mets in the deal?

If Romero can bounce back to his pre-2012 form, holy crap. The lineup won't need to be "perfect" to contend.

Are we done, or is Rogers going to go whole hog and authorize the cash to sign up a legitimate 1B?

Steep price, but when you total it up:

In:

Dickey
JJ
Reyes
Beurhle
Cabrera
Thole
Nickeas
Bonifacio
Izurtis

Out:

Alvarez
Nickolino
Syndergaard
D'Arnaud
Hechavaria
Mathis
Escobar
Marisnick
Desacflani

I think we know who the winner is.
