Bob Hartley was heavily outcoached last night. Our third and fourth lines werre caught out consistently against Getzlaf and Perry and did it ever show.. They dominated from start to finish..
Specialty teams was the difference :
Raymond - Colborne - Jones
Why in god's name did Bob Hartley insist on having this as our 2nd line PP unit? Frolik and Backlund were flying and creating opportunities on a shift to shift basis.. They were easily our two best forwards on the ice along with Bennett.
Why is our PK unit so god damn passive? All you had to do was watch the difference between these two team's PK's to see why they sit 1st in the NHL and we sit 29th... The Ducks were extremely aggressive and took away our time and space immediately, while we sat back and gave two ELITE players all the time and space they wanted. Is it any wonder they scored those goals with such ease?
Why take Ferland off of the top line and replace him with Colborne? Ferland was skating hard, finishing checks, and throwing pucks on net.
This was a headscratching game to watch, and quite frankly we deserved to lose.
