Looks like the A's have settled on a desired location for their new ballpark in Oakland

http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/A-s-want-to-build-new-ballpark-next-to-Laney-12193239.php

Pretty good location if you ask me, assuming they are able to iron out all of the wrinkles involved.

Google Maps link to the location

tl;dr of details:

- $500m privately financed
- Right down the street from Lake Meritt BART station
- Would need to build new offramps from 880
- Hoping for first game in 2023 after all of the environment reviews, permits and other things get taken care of
- A's on the hook for finding and building a new location for Peralta HQ
- Concerns from locals about increased traffic and gentrification (not surprising)
- Want to turn current Coliseum site into a mixed use development for a community sports park or urban youth baseball partnership with MLB

Was my 3rd favorite choice out of the 3. This location will potentially move out a college headquarters and an immigrant neighborhood. Not a fan.

They weren't going anyway. Trump is a bitter idiot. Can't uninvite those who never wanted to go in the first place.

if the A's get themselves some pitching help they'll be a very good team next season

They already said with a stadium plan in place that that won't be happening anymore.

Plenty of room on the bandwagon with the Giants lacking prospects and an aging, flawed roster if you wanna hop aboard.

Pablo Sandoval hits a walkoff home run. That, combined with the Tigers loss means that the Giants have the 2nd pick in June's draft. If the Giants lost, they would have picked first.

meh, the talent dropoff between the #1 and #2 picks in Baseball is minimal anyways.

Joey Bats now a free agent. I can see the Giants targeting him. The A's have enough power in their lineup right now.
