Wright is the worst player ever. John Scott scored more goals than him. I seriously cant wait for that plug to be off our team

When Wright gets the same amount of points as the GOALIE (and Pavelec at that) you know you're in trouble. :sarcasm: :shakehead

If Wright doesn't get re-signed (please) I wonder if Scheifele will be disappointed... they seemed to be friends (plus they are roommates)

some of the empty nets Wright missed were LOLfunny.
year before, he scored 2 goals. one went off his skate.
so whip away

I am not sure if Wright could score if he picked the puck up and threw it at an empty net from 5ft away.
Offensive output similar to Shawn Cronin.

:shakehead

Too bad because, as stated, the rest of his game was alright.

Though everything is relative...if Wright was on your beer league team, he would probably crush it with double digit goals every game.

I like Halischuk infinitely more than Thorburn and Wright.
Hell even if you combined those last 2 together to create one face punching magnet pk skating specialist who is great in the dressing room, I still like Halischuk more.
Too bad he broke his arm during the season.

On this precedent, here's hoping those other 2 don't receive an offer from the jets.

A good start. Now don't go signing Glass and re-signing Thorburn and you'll have my attention.

Edit: I see Sara Orlesky said the Jets are not one of six teams who have contacted Glass. :)

If he can only tell guys on the team how to properly play with Kane, I think this has been a successful experiment.

Crash the net and bang in Kane's rebounds. It's really not that hard! It's too bad he wasn't a very good hockey player apart from that.

Truly. Given the amount he played with Kane and/or Schiefele, double digit goals should have been rather easy for a "good scorer." Insane amount of scoring chances and open space created by those guys.

If Wright could just score 7-10 goals a season he would be worth keeping IMO, but the man just can't score.

He doesn't think the game fast enough. I think it's also confidence. You can't deny his work ethic tho and he was badly needed last year with so many injuries to our C position.

Each to their own. He's a mediocre player but I dont think he's deserved his whipping-boy status. Hopefully he gets a chance elsewhere and can carve out a career.

You know goal scoring isn't the only way a player helps their team right?

I always liked Wright. Hard worker, high energy, good checker, good skater. 7-10 goals a season are you kidding? Playing on our 4th line I would have been happy with 5. Yup, 5/yr and he keeps his job easy.

I (almost) would like to see Hali get another chance. Between being moved around, played on his wrong wing and injured he didn't have a great opportunity. But realistically he would probably flop again.

So I agree with parting with these 2 but it is with just a little regret.

Before being to joyful at bidding farewell to Wright and Halischuk lets see who replaces them. I hope Chevy already knows and they are an upgrade but my confidence has been sorely tested by the Goat-Lender debacle.

Peluso can have Wright's place as the 13th forward. Tangradi is better than Halischuk. I expect Klingberg and/or Cormier to make waves for the 4th line in the fall.

I liked Halischuk. I hope something is in the works. We had a terrible bottom 6 but Halischuk was one of my favorite pieces. Best of luck to him.

I'm just tired of players that are likely to be severely outscored.
Glass
Thorburn
Miettinen
Halischuk

These 4 have been out shot as severely as players like Colton Orr and the ilk, a guy who actually isn't a hockey player.

Time for the Jets to move on from this type.

Time for a 4th line like Tangradi-Slater-O'Dell.

Yep, but even then I can't wait for the day that Tangradi and Slater are gone too. We can do much better than both of them on the fourth line. I would rather see ODell centre Lipon and whomever after this season as I think we'll see another year of Maurice not trusting his fourth line much.

Going to miss Wrights ability to win key faceoffs. Guy couldn't score to save his life but he was useful.
